What are the odds of a blue eyed/red haired baby??

I was reading my week 38 update that BabyCenter sends me every week and one of the things they talked about was eye color and it got me thinking. This is what it said:

"Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)"

Both DH and i are red-heads and we both have very light blue eyes and very pale-ish sensitive skin. We both were born with bright blonde hair though.

What are the odds will be red-headed and blue eyed??

Just a guess but since you and dh have the same features i am thinking your odds are really high for having an adorable redhaired blue eyed baby

I don't know what the odds are but I have a blue eyed red haired . DH and I both have blue eyes and blond hair so the eyes were a given but the hair was a surprise. We were expecting a blond. He actually was born blond and then it turned red, now he's pretty much a strawberry blond.

If you and your DH both have blue eyes than your with have blue eyes too, its a recessive gene. Don't know how hair color works but I'd say your chances are pretty good.

I think since you're both the same features your odds are much higher... but ya never know. Both my parents are dark...but my oldest sister is fair skin with blonde hair and blue eyes.. go figure LOL. Still the same 38 years later! HA

DH and I are both brown haired, I have brown eyes, he has hazel and DD is red-haired blue eyed! My mom is red hair, blue eyes. So I am not sure of the odds, but that is what we ended up with and it is a GORGEOUS combo

DH & I are brown - straight haired with brown eyes.

DS has blond curly hair and blue eyes

My Dh has brown hair and hazel eyes, I'm blonde hair with blue eyes and my mom has red hair and blue eyes - my DH is terrified that our son will have red hair lol!

I think the odds are very good! My mom's sister and my dad's brother both have red hair, and both of my parents have black hair. My brother has blond and I have red. All of us have different eye colors. In your case, I think the chance is very very high of them having red hair and blue eyes.

If you both have blue eyes then your daughter will have blue eyes - it's a recessive gene.

Both parents have to have the gene for red hair (which you guys have) so the chances are good for a little redhead. My dh has dark brown hair (I have strawberry blond) so I was surprised when I saw my daughter's hair.

We have a red haired, blue eyed girl and I think she's a little beautie!!!!!!
