Re: What are you better at?

I can do both but I think I am a better baker. DH does most of the cooking in our house.

Re: What are you better at?

I have to say I am good at both...despite what people thought before I got married.

Re: What are you better at?

I'd like to think that I'm pretty good at both, although I feel more adventurous when it comes to cooking.

Re: What are you better at?

Definitely baking--I need EXACT instructions, so it's perfect for me. Here's an example, once--as an adult, mind you--I went to make Kraft mac and cheese. The directions say boil 6 cups of water and add macaroni. I started MEASURING 6 cups of water and pouring it into the pot. I realized what I was doing midway through and thought, "What the hell am I doing?!" Chat Icon Chat Icon

So yeah...baking.

I'm OK at coking and do a few things well- baked zitti, meatloaf nothing fancy though.

I LOVE to bake and have even thought of doing boutique catering. Baking cakes and brownies is so soothing and satsifying to me.

Re: What are you better at?

I like cooking much better. To me baking is an exact science. There's little room for error and I'm not versed well enough to experiment.........

Re: What are you better at?

I'm decent at both, but enjoy baking more because I find it more relaxing. Not as much "active" work.

When I cook, there's usually a mess. Chat Icon And I can't get right the timing of all the dishes at the end...so much to do.

Same here. I'm great at following directions! I think cooking is much more subjective and I'm not very good at spices and seasonings, guessing what would taste good together.

Re: What are you better at?

Well, I'd say that I'm equally good at both, except since we moved here, the altitude really messes up my baking! I've had to learn how to adjust recipes for high altitude (we're at around 6,000 feet).

Me too - I don't have a natural cooking intuition. But I bake well!.

Re: What are you better at?

I can do both - my mom loves to cook - so she used to give her her gourmet magazines and a recipe from them to cook. I can bake and cook - but I prefer to cook. I love to cook but just hate the cleanup aspect of it.

Re: What are you better at?

I asked DH - he said Baker. It's probably because I hate to cook and it shows.
