what are you buying your infant for christmas/hanukah?
DS will be almost 6 months old at christmas. what are some great toys i can buy him? i have no idea where to start!

Sorry - I thought you wanted to know what I was getting DS. For a 6 month old I would get the table pp said or the piano. DS still loves his piano and he is 13 months old.

You will have a much better idea when you see where he is at in his development a few weeks before the holidays. I have been reading about how all babies are so different, so now I am preaching that here  .
I would really like to have DS open a gift a night for hanukah but I don't think they'll have to be extravagant for a 1 year old.

Probably something special - keepsake like - from mommy to her. I know the family is going to go nuts.... and even if they don't - my friends have passed on so many toys that their children have outgrown it's insane!

You are very right!
Grandparents/aunt/uncles ets go CRAZY at holidays...we did not buy Johnny very much his first christmas...2 toys maybe and I was happy we didn't buy too much. He got more toys and clothing than i knew what to do!!
I think we bought him some fisher price toys that were age appropriate (big squishy blocks) OHHH and now I remember..we got the ocean wonders aquarium for his crib. And some new pj's. We had fun stuffing his stocking actually..that was my favorite part!!  He was 3 months old at christmas..
