what are you crafting over the summer???
do you have anything specifically planned to craft over the summer??
i'm hoping to knock out the following list: * finish sweater for grandma * knit the rock island shawl for myself as part of a KAL with the knitting group i recently joined * knit a pair of socks for myself... i've never knit socks for myself. it's time i wear my own socks
except for my grandma's sweater, the other two items are small, lightweight, and portable... i don't want a heavy wool blanket sitting on my lap

Re: what are you crafting over the summer???
Just finished two items:
- Cabled knit hat for myself ("Clamber" on Ravelry for anyone who might care, lol) - Gingham cafe curtains for my kitchen
Upcoming projects for the summer: - Cabled knit hat for my 2 yr old DD. I want to use the same yarn that I used for my hat, but find a different pattern so it's not completely matchy-matchy. - A knit shawl (I'm looking at "Multnomah" on Ravelry). I have no idea when I'm going to wear a shawl, but I always wanted to make one.

i love the hat and the shawl. i thought the same thing about a shawl for myself. i made one and i use it as a scarf. i put it on "backwards"... like a cowboy would wear a bandanna, with the point in the front. then i throw on my coat. it covers me up real nice and keeps me warm.
i made the aran weight victorian lace shawl in 100% alpaca... talk about YUMMY and WARM
