What arts and crafts do you do with your 15 month old ?
We tried coloring, I know she does in daycare, but the crayons go right in the mouth ! We used the toddler ones from crayola were it is like a ball shaped, easy for them to hold. Also, if any one does finger paints, what do you do to prevent them from putting it in their mouth ? T.I.A.

LOL - we tried the same crayons and all he wanted to do was eat them. I know at daycare they glue construction paper shapes, but I would do all the cutting he doesn't really get to DO anything. Would love to hear other people's ideas!

the first time I tried coloring w/ DD all she wanted to do was put the crayons in her mouth. Now though I tried it again b/c she is doing it at the babysitters and she's fine so I guess it's just the initial reaction but they get over it. I know the babysitter does playdoh with them but I've never done that or finger painting yet, too nervous. But I'd love suggestions also.

Re: What arts and crafts do you do with your 15 month old ?
My DS is 10 months, but, I used to teach this age and up. With crayons we did: "Dot, Dot, Dot"...I would hold a crayon and Tap it on paper. Eventually they will imitate. They love the tapping noise too.
Playdough...Definitley Supervised. They LOVE to squish it.
Goop..Cornstarch and Water. It's messy, but, fun.
With the fingerpaints I would let them paint on paper. Fold paper in half, press all along, open up the paper again and you have a "Butterfly or Mirror image". Also, if you can get a hold of sponges with different designs (they are probably in Michaels or the Dollar store) we used to do sponge painting. This honestly was my favorite activity.
