what baby gear does "grandma" have
Now that Natalie is a little bigger, my mom is wondering what "stuff" she should have at her house. I don't really want my mom to spend a lot of money, that she doesn't have, and we don't really want to go out and by 2 of everything that we have for her. My mom doesn't watch her, but when we're there it would be nice to have some of the comforts of home, kwim?

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
My parents have diapers and wipes, a porta crib for if he naps or stays over from time to time (I would think you can leave your pack and play there if you dont need it at home anymore), toys and usually food and that type of stuff I just bring with me.
ETA: My parents also have a car seat that we got from a good friend of the family but they also watch DS for me 1 or 2 days a week.

Mine have a carseat, stroller, pnp, highchair. They had a bouncer when DS was smaller.
They also have assorted toys, books, cds as well as a swing in their yard.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
Carseat, stroller, high chair, pnp, half of her clothes, diapers, wipes, bowls, spoons, sippies, toys, books, blankets.
My parents watch DD for us, so we just rotate her stuff between our houses.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
diapers/wipes 2 pack n plays for naps (used) two high chairs (they had one from the other grandchildren and someone gave us another)
They also have a super yard and assorted toys.
IL's live 2 miles away but they are rarely there. It's just easier for IL's to come to us.

Nothing! And it annoys me. This is why we never go over there. She doesn't want "clutter" in her house.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
Both my mother and my MIL watch DD when I'm at work so they have a lot of stuff. My mom used to watch my niece so all the stuff over there is hand me downs or stuff my sister just bought to leave over there that stayed. At my MIL's house there is a hand me down pack and play from her great-grand kids and a TON of toys that MIL went out and purchased because she wanted to.
They both have diapers/wipes etc.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
well, I guess it really depends on how often you are there for and what duration of time each visit.
My Mom watched Aly while I worked FT so she had a highchair, bouncy chair, travel swing, crib and car seat.
If you just visit occasionally...maybe a pack and play and travel swing?

My parents have a PNP and a car seat.
They are going to buy an inexpensive stroller and booster b/c it is a PITA to bring all that stuff to their apartment.
They also have some toys, sippy cups and food for him.

I bought each set of grandparents a pack n play to keep at their houses. They each bought a car seat and my mom got a Graco swing as a hand-me down.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
My parents live 45 minutes away from me but they live 4 miles from my sister. They have everything from when my nephews were younger. I would be able to leave either child at my parents house and really wouldn't need to bring anything.: car seat (I still provide my own but they do have one "just in case") full size crib diapers in every size wipes changes of clothing in every size up to 3T Blankets medicines assorted diaper creams high chair little tables and little chairs train table lots of toys plastic plates/bowls/utensils bottles/sippy cups snacks bouncy seat bath toys/bath soaps (aveeno baby soap)
My inlaws only have a PnP and booster seat for when we visit them in Florida (they live in Brooklyn but are snow birds)

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
MY ILs have everything but DS is their 7th Grand child.
they have a highchair, exersaucer, walker, toys, diapers, wipes, etc...
I give them diapers, clothes, bottle liners, a sippy cup, etc and they buy wipes. and we bought a car seat for them when DS went to a convertible.
I would say look on craigslist and garage sales if she doesnt want to spend alot, especially considering that htey grow out of things so rapidly.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
My mom didn't watch Kaydyn at all so she's there about once a month. She has some little toys, some teething rings, an exersaucer, a lightweight stroller, an infant to toddler rocker. She got all of these from a friend on my sister.
ETA: My mom also has wipes, diapers and a crib that she bought when my sister had kids a couple of years ago.

Re: what baby gear does "grandma" have
My parents have a high chair, pack and play, diapers, wipes, and lots of toys. Grant it they live in CT and we go there about once a month, but it helps to not have to shlep all of DDs stuff with us when we go.

Pretty much the same deal for me. My parents watched my 2 nieces so they have pretty much everything. They have more toys over there then I have here right now The only things I will need to stock them with are diapers in his size and formula/bottles.
