what bills coming with owning a house?
sorry for the dumb question...
right now we're living in a co-op so everything is included in the maintance. dh and i are starting to look for a house and me being from out of state, i don't know what bills (and the companies that will be billing us) come with owning a house in ny.
can anyone help with listing their bills and approx how much per month?

LIPA (electric company in LI)
Gas (Keyspan) or Oil (various companies)
Cable (Cablevision or Verizon)
Internet (Cablevision or Verizon)
Homeowners Insurance (various companies)
Water (depends on where you live...some towns have their own water supply where as others use the county municple water supply)
Im sure others will add to the list

lawncare - could be a landscaper or the cost to purchase a mower, fertilizer, etc.
snow removal - either a plowing service, snowblower or good old shovel 
I would suggest getting your furnace on a maintenance program with your gas/oil provider
Garbage removal - if it isn't provided by your town
Also, things will need to be fixed...
also depending on your municipality you will have a sewer bill, it is usually a percentage of your water bill

Water - 10 (per month - billed every 3 months or so)

all of the above, but its the surprise bills that are what end up throwing you!
washer or dryer breaking suddenly
temporary fixes that the prior owner did to hold them over til they sold, suddenly when you move in you'll find all sorts of random things that need to be fixed.
stuff like that is killer
