what boy clothes can be used as girl clothes?
I think it's easier to go this way rather than girl-boy.
I'm guessing that most jeans I can keep? What about khakis/cargo pants? sweats?
tops - can I convert blue shirts by ironing on a butterfly or something?
I want to go through everything and purge the rest.

I honestly think i'd buy everything new! (plus you'll prob get a bunch of girl clothes gifts!).
I wouldn't waste time ironing on something to a blue boy shirt, but i guess you could. There is just so much cute girl clothes out there...
I never feel the clothes are all that interchangeable but thats just me. I guess you could get away with jeans and some sweats! And of course neutral and white onesies.

When they are infants, you could probably use the onesies and sleep sack type stuff. I definitely think you could reuse that even if it is blue for when you are home.
Once they are a little older, I don't think the clothing is interchangeable. Even DS's white polo shirts look like boy clothing. I don't think a girl could wear it. The pants are really different for boys and girls. Girl stuff is so much cuter!

thermal shirts(white, black, lite blue, red, gray)
pjs
socks
black coat...just added girly hat and gloves

I feel this way too. I always see little boys with long hair in our hood, it confuses me if they are girls, even when they are wearing boy clothes.
its all about the hair!

Agreed!! Ann has her fair share of BOYS clothes that I've bought her ... mostly things with puppies on them  And fleece pants or sweatpants.
ETA: I will usually put a pink bottom on if she's got on a "boy" top or a pink/obvious GIRL top with "boy" pants.

My  wears boy PJs, bibs, and sports themed clothes (Jets outfits). Also onesies, sleepsacks, blankets.

dd gets clothes that her twin cousins grew out of.
i usually take the boy onesies. she wears them under stuff. the pjs and sleep sacs socks.

I reused pajamas, sleep sacks, swaddles, bibs, towels.
I also put DS's jeans, gender-neutral onesies, and socks on DD.
You could probably get away with sweats, and sweaters.

Congratulations to you!!
Girls can definitely wear more boy clothes than boys can wear girl clothes.. put a bow in her hair or a headband on a bald head and there's no question. (even though there will always be questions, even if she were wearing head to toe pink and frills... it's just the way it is).

Jeans, khaki's, polo shirts, anything not all blue. Just make sure to glue a bow on her head at all times, lol.

I reuse jeans, pjs, socks, onesies, and sleep sacks. Anything that said son or boy I did not use even if DD did not know, I do. Some of the carter's pjs say those things. I reuse some stuff but not everything.

i'm saving a lot of DS's clothes. i think even if it's a girl, she can wear it. especially things like onesies and sleepers. she'll never know they were meant for a boy and some are so cute it's sad to throw them out! (besides, who decided a gray sleeper with brown monkeys means it's mean for a boy? girls can like monkeys too!)

haha.. cute! Chloe had a star wars onesie when she was a baby - I just paired it with a jean skirt. we were team green and I bought a few pairs of sweats that were boys. Chloe is a pig tail chick too
