What brand meds are YOU going to buy now?
My medicine cabinet is completly empty since the recent recalls, and Im unsure on what brand to buy in order to restock.
My 4yr old is is prone to high fevers (105-106; like everytime he gets sick ) and motrin chased with tylenol was the only way Ive been able to control it (not stop it, but control it) and now Im  on what I should purchase.
What do we know about childrens Advil... Im thinking the ibruprofen in the motrin (which is also in advil) is what works on the fever, so Im considering buying that...???
As far as tylenol... Luckily my little guy (11 months) hasnt really had any need for infant tylenol, but nonetheless Id like to have some in the house...
CVS? Target? Any specific brands supposed to be safer???

I am going to talk to my pediatrician about this. The recalls were so weird, I don't know if they were just being ultra-cautious or if something really went wrong.

I got Tylenol, Motrin and Benedryl chewables since my ped said they were safe.

None, i have never given DD any medications in the 9 months since she has been born except for hydrocortisone cream for her excema and recalls is why. If she absolutely needs it, i will get some for her but i prefer to keep her unmedicated unless it's absolutely nesccessary. When i do need to get some for her, i will probably do the Target brans and stay generic, i trust the generics.

I never buy name brand meds, anyway. So I suggest Target, CVS or any other store brand. They work just fine!

Same here! DS had his 4 month shots the day before and I wanted something on hand quickly.
The only thing I don't like about what I bought is that it has dye - I like the clear infant Tylenol.

I've always bought generic b/c I am cheaparse Even for our own medications!
That said, Chris brings the children's home from the hospital, so whatever they are supplying, he will get for us.

Um, wth does it mean that the "FDA could not identify the bacteria"?

maybe they didnt recongize it as any of the expected run of the mill bacteria that one would almost always see in this kinda stuff.

I generally do not buy brand name.
I'm too poor to put out that kinda cash.
With AJ's ear infections it was crazy how much Motrin and Tylenol I was going through!  
I still 'call it' tylenol and motrin but its usually the local grocery store brand, target, walgreens or CVS.
I did, however, have zyrtec because they had bubble gum flavor and the generic didnt. 
Good news is AJ did not respond well to Zyrtec so we've gone back to Claritin (Wal-itrin  from walgreens) even tho she hates the taste and its a struggle to get her to actually swallow the dose. *sigh*
