What can I do to close on this house?
Now my lawyer, the sellers lawyer and the TOB lawyer are urging me to get our bank to close this week. I can't do anything - all i get is the underwriters are reviewing it again and that we should hear back at any moment. I call the bank, email them, ask them again and again. I am starting to freak out because now the lawyers are mad at me like I am holding everything up!
What can I do at this point to push the bank to close?

honestly...I don't think there is anything you can do
if the file is in underwriting - then it's in underwriting
and it should not be your job to push

Re: What can I do to close on this house?
Don't get yourself all freaked out over this, there is nothing you can do to hurry them. As long as the bank is not waiting on you for any documents or information, it is out of your hands. If you are using a mortgage rep and /or a real estate agent, they should be the ones pushing for you on your behalf.
Honestly when it comes to the banks there is nothing you can do other than respond back right away when they request something. Don't let the lawyers intimidate you, they probably have something on their calendars that they are trying to work around (probably a vacation lol ) so they are trying to push you. The end is in sight, hang in there.

your lawyer should be working with the bank to move this along not you. he is getting paid to look out for your best interest. after providing all the necessary documents there is nothing more you can do but wait unfortunately.
sorry you are going through this....

Re: What can I do to close on this house?
I would keep calling the bank and ask to speak to some higher ups. Tell them that the amount of time you have been waiting is unacceptable. My mom had a similar problem this summer with TFCU and after calling some higher up managers they finally pushed it thru. It's worth a shot. I wouldn't just sit back and wait.

Re: What can I do to close on this house?
Ok, speaking from the bank's perspective..if it's in underwriting, there really isn't much you can do. Even by you calling and emailing..because you are in touch with your loan officer, not the underwriters. Banking regulations are very tough right now and every single loan is going through several review processes, things are just moving slow. The end of the month rush is on for purchases, so that is slowing things up also.
Honestly, you are paying your attorney to handle these things for you. You should not be having to deal with this. Scheduling the closing is his job. So was making sure that everything stayed on the same track so that everyone would be ready to close at the same time.
Sorry, but there really isn't anything YOU can do.

I completely agree- definately your attorney's job! Maybe call him and suggest that he call the bank/loaner officer
When we bought our coop, our attorney and loan officer were on a first name basis and spoke daily- and my attorney updated me on their conversations/progress

Re: What can I do to close on this house?
bank just emailed me with the fact our rate expired now and that i have to send in our pay stubs and the seller needs to send another form in over the termite inspection that was done after treatment. I cc'd my lawyer on it. No comments were made as usual. I really think everyone is so sick of hearing from me and about the sale of this house. Even the bank was like "trust us we want this house to close."
Gotta love this s@^% and all I get is my husband angry at the world and me. I hope to god I never buy a house again in my life because this was the worst experience of my life, i am completely over it.
Thank you all for the kind words, i pretty much knew there was nothing more i could do. As soon as i get requests in I do them with in a half hour and give back what they need.

Did they even say that once this was in, you would be ready to close?
