what can you tell me about NSUH in Manhasset?

and if you had a C/S what was your experience like and how long did you stay?

I had a great experience there. The new rooms are awesome! My Dr would have released me after 3 days but my twins were in the NICU and I had a rough recovery after months of bedrest so I stayed an extra day. My Dr gave me the choice since he said insurance will pay for 4 days.

It was a wonderful experience. I did not have a c section but the nurses and staff were great and the private room was awesome!

I've had 2 sections at NSUH (original mat ward) and it was fantastic. I was there for 4 days the first time, 3 days the second. Each time I only had 1 staff member (both nurses) that I did not like. Other than that 1, everyone else was excellent.

I'm scheduled to have my 3rd section on May 16th and I'm so excited for the private rooms - I've heard the makeover is beautiful.

I had my there in December. I had an emergency c-section on the Monday night at 9:38PM and I was discharged on Thurs Morning (9:30AM). It seemed so fast! The whole experience was great, nice nurses and beautiful rooms. All in all it was a great experience!

I had a c/s. My twins were born Sunday morning and we were home Wednesday. The rooms are beautiful. It was like staying at a hotel. .

The nurses were all great and so so nice. Could not say enough nice things about them!

I had a great experience there! I gave birth to my son at 30w6days via c-section due to preeclampsia. I just had him on March 2nd so it's very recent! The rooms are awesome they are like hotel rooms! The nurses and doctors are fabulous and took great care of me. My doctor all along was going to let me stay for 4 days since my son is still in the NICU so they could get away with the extra day, but I had to have another round of magnesium for my blood pressure and a headache that wouldn't go away so I had my son on Friday and was released on Wednesday. I also had an emerg c-section at NSUH w/ DD in Sept 2009. It was crazy b/c it happened to be the Thurs before Yon Kippur and there were a lot of scheduled C-sections...they supposedly had a record number of babies born that day, and there was no room for me in a regular maternity ward, so they put me in the anti-partum unit, I felt bad the first night being in a three person room w/ 2 other women trying to keep for m going into pre-term labor.

NSUH was very accommodating, I brought up my concern and they transfered me to one of the private rooms which was fantastic!!! All the nurses and staff and LC's were caring and knowledgeable. I'm due w/ #2 and I'll be back at NSUH, and I live in Westchester and still plan on doing the commute HTH

I delivered DS there last march, i had the old rooms because they were still doing work on the new wing. Some nurses were great, but the night nurse was horrible. My son was in the NICU and i was breatfeeding him. At night i pumped, and the night nurse showed up 2 hours late to pick up the pumped milk to give to DS who was due for a feeding 2 hours ago. I complained to the nurses at the desk, where all of them were sitting on their butts. I wasn't impressed with the night time nurses. However, i will be delivering DC #2 there this summer because it's the only hospital my doctor is associated with.
I went back a week later due to uterus infection and preeclampsia..the nurses showed me how to self medicate myself through the machine i was hooked up to because they didn't want/have time to keep fixing the IV in my arm. Im still not impressed! but i love my Doctor.
Hope to have a better experience next time.
