What color in kitchen/dining room area?
The cabinets will be white, mostly grayish color countertop, dark hardwood floors. What color do you think would look nice? The kitchen and dining room walls are connected so it will have to be the same color I think. The dining room has a chair railing so that will be white on the bottom half. I just don't know what color at all to do the rest. I wish I could do a different color in the DR and the kitchen but it's connected with a big wall. What do you think? Thanks!
ETA: the dining room chair railing is all the way down the big wall that goes into the kitchen.

Can you post a pic? I am having a hard time seeing it.
Also, you are techinically supposed to do the darker color on the bottom of the chair rail so white on the bottom is not really ideal. It would be preferable to do a darker color on the bottom, lighter on top.

Because you are seilling the home, everything should be repainted a light neutral color.
Buy a 5 gallon jug (cheaper) and paint all living areas the same color.

Really? I thought the white goes on the bottom? That's how much I know. I think it looks better on the bottom, no?
We don't have a pic yet... we're working on it now.

You don't have to it's entirely personal preference.
I've seen both in houses and in decorating magazines.
I have the darker color on the top in two rooms of my house.
But again, because you are selling, I would keep the chairrail white and the top and bottom very neutral colors.
If you want a slight difference in shade the best thing to do is get the color swatch pick a color and go two up or two down on the swatch to pick the light and dark. That way they are both work well together. Keep in mind, two difference colored paints=more paint which =more $$$. Remember, you are flipping and every extra penny you spend is cutting into your bottom line.

I didn't know she was selling. For sure go neutral, darker and lighter shades. No doubt!
