What did/will your DD carry for first Communion?
Did your DD carry a small bouquet? Rosary? Bible? What is most popular?

They're not allowed to carry anything in church, but I'm getting a bouquet anyway for pictures (and am buying her keepsake rosary beads, but those will stay home).

they cannot carry anything, I think my mom is going to make her a boquet of fake flowers that we will use the week before for her pics and she can save those as a keepsake

Thanks everyone! I guess our church is pretty liberal because they are allowed to carry something. I ordered Her a small bouquet just in case and will probably figure it out right there.

Just a question but how do they carry something and receive communion since hands are full? They are supposed to enter the church in a praying hand and have hands free to receive communion. Just curious

They do their processional to the front of the church first. Sing together then they go sit in their designated pew with the family. There is a service and then the communicants can leave their stuff (flowers, gloves, bibles) on the pew and each child goes up with their parents.

Re: What did/will your DD carry for first Communion?
She is not carrying anything. In fact, our church wrote a letter stating the "rules" and girls are not allowed to carry flowers or anything like that.

Re: What did/will your DD carry for first Communion?
I guess I just assumed DD would need flowers so I ordered them. Now, I after asking I learned they are not allowed. I guess I will bring them in for her and hold them.
