Good First Communion Gift?
My only first cousin on my Dad's side of the family is making her First Communion this year and I would like to get her something--not doing the check or bond thing, my parents will do that...I want a physical gift. Any suggestions? Links or pics would be even better!
She is a pretty girly girl, but also is just a great, outgoing, super active kid

Re: Good First Communion Gift?
I ordered a locket for my godchild and I will have it engraved. I was also thinking about the lenox doll, but decided to do $ along with the gift instead since there will only be a few people giving her gifts. This doll is very pretty and lenox has a free shipping sale which ends today. YOu can also get a Precious Moments communion doll. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Good First Communion Gift?
I bought my niece a charm bracelet from Things Remembered. I got the bible with a cross on it as the first charm.

I was going to suggest a locket or bracelet too and maybe an engraved jewelery box to go with it.
I still have jewelery that I received as first communion gifts and I remember who gave me each piece.

If I have time this weekend maybe I will go to the flea market then and pick up something .. can you get anything for $30??? I really can't spend more than that. Maybe cross earrings? She's bound to get some though, and then she'll have duplicates. That's why I usually give $$ or a bond!

I am sure you can find something in that price range. I still have my cross earings but not everthing I got had a religious tone to it -- I also got gold heart earrings and somethings with my birthstone.
I stick with cash usually too unless it is a niece/nephew. Then they get somethign to go along with it. I have one next weekend for a cousin -- he is getting cash.

Re: Good First Communion Gift?
I remember getting a beautiful cross for my communion. It was such a great present because it represents your Communion and you can wear it a lot. I got one with a diamond in it (right in the center) and it was white gold. Very pretty and a great gift.
But also doing a charm braclet or another type of necklace, braclet would be just as great.

Re: Good First Communion Gift?
Thanks for all the suggestions! I found out my brother is doing a bracelet, so I don’t want to do that. If you got a necklace, was it adult sized? I remember all the jewelry I got was child-sized and I could only wear it for a couple of years after…I wouldn’t want to get her something she can’t wear now though either….argh I’m not good at this stuff!

This is my 1st cousin's daughter -- we were close growing up but not so much now. Maybe I will go to kmart one day this week - they have cute kids jewelry ... thanks anne.

I would probably do an adult size. If you are doing a necklace with charm just get a shorter chain length.
Earrings -- well they don't matter size wise.
