what did you give as a 1st wedding anniversary gift?
I have another 6 weeks to go, but I'm looking for inspiration. pls share what you gave your DH/DW. thanks!

A number of smaller things but mainly tix to a Red Sox/Yankee Game the day we were coming home from vacation.

we gave each other our  stroller for Scone....
then, we both gave each other small gifts... I gave DH some tees from cafe press.....

I hear ya......we dated for 7 years before marriage and never got anniversary gifts while dating.....since its our first wedding anniversary I want to get him something.

I gave DW a #1 wife and heart pendants. She stuck with the traditional paper gift in the form of Yankee/Red Sox tickets, which we arrived late to coming back from the Poconos (3rd inning).
Yankees won, 11-1.

It was the paper anniversary and we're tight on money, so I got him a book I thought he'd like. He got me tickets to Spamalot.

i think you should get him something that you can actually DO together instead of something tangible. maybe like a night at east wind spa or a weekend away. someone also suggested a kayak trip.. or a day at the vineyards, something like that..
i think the memories will be better than any gift you can give!
(not sure if your DH is into this)

I have no idea of what I am going to get DH either and to make it worse for me his birthday is a week before our anniversary. As of now I am thinking of making a nice picnic lunch and go to the beach where he proposed to me.

We went to the Bahamas for our first anniversary so we didn't exchange gifts. I did get him the Book of Us (paper) and answered all the questions pretaining to us. I wanted to keep with the paper tradition.

thanks I didn't realize it was paper until I read these responses!! we're going away to Orlando for a week, but maybe I'll get him Mets tickets for when we come back.

I got dh a map of the world (paper)
It comes with different color pegs so you can post where you have been, where you want to go and your favorite spot!
we have it hanging in our den!

First weddding anniversary is Paper - modern is Clocks. You could get him a watch if you wanted.
We stuck to the paper theme and he got me some framed Disney prints of love themes and I bought him a slew of paper for him to use when he writes.

thanks! yea I read that the modern gift is a clock.....DH is an electrician though, so he doesn't wear his wedding band let alone a watch!
I looked up the Mets schedule and I really want to try & get tix to the Marlins series for the last weekend of home games in Sept.
thanks for your help!! I really like hearing what everyone got from or gave to their spouse!
