What did you think of SATC movie? Don't read if you didn't see the movie!

I loooooved the TV show, one of my favorites of all time, and I was SO disappointed with the movie. I wanted to love it so badly and was so disappointed with the end, it tainted it for me. I went with 7 other women, and we all left feeling the same disappointment.

I always loved the show because it had so much heart and real feeling. There were over the top elements but the core always felt real and relatable and I think the movie lost that. I thought the ending was so flawed and over the top, it was ridicuous. While fashion was always a center point, the blatant materialism in the movie was sickening. I love fashion but it was all about lables, one upping others, just a really bad message...

I also thought Charlotte's story line was so over the top and fake.

On the up side, I thought the ladies looked amazing. SJP and Cynthia Nixon did an AMAZING acting job. And the middle half hour or so (from the wedding scene through Mexico), I thought was touching and heartfelt. I thought that the Steve/Miranda was touching, realistic, and heartfelt.

So sad I didn't like it...

I loved it! I loved their dialogue...still witty. And Charlotte is still my favorite!

And I want their makeup artists! OMG, they all looked gorgeous!

eta: I actually thought that one of the messages was not to care about labels...especially considering what Carrie wears at the end.....

I LOVED it!!! I went with 9 girls and we all really liked it. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. All the girls looked beautiful!!!

ETA: I love Charlotte's daughter..she is such a cutie!!!! I loved her cupcake purse

I left upset.. I went with a girlfriend and we were sad.. We loved the movie but what Big did to her was really really messed up. and we felt hurt still. WE didnt get over it .. How silly is that but we were discussing this on the way home and decided that was what we felt like. stupid hugh?

but - it was a GREAT movie overall

I really liked it, but was also dissapointed with the ending.
It also made me mad when Carrie blamed Miranda for ruining her marriage.
I don't think she should have forgiven him like that.

i liked it! and i think at the end, the message was the glitz, glamour and labels didn't mean anything hence why carrie and big got married with her in the little suit---and having their reception at a diner!

what did you think was fake about charlotte's storyline? i was so happy to see her have a baby.

I really loved it....to me, it felt like an extended version of the show...and I liked the ending!

I like the movie, but I just wish that she would have told Big to take hike at the end when he tried to come back. Maybe it was messed up for Miranda to say that to Big, but if a man is going to call off a wedding because someone said something out of anger, than he really had doubts to begin with. I don't know if it was fair for Carrie to blame Miranda for him calling off the wedding

I LOVED every aspect of it!!! I can't wait to go again next week to see it with my sister!! And I actually loved the ending- so badly wanted them together!!!

I don't think that was right either - but Mrnada should have come clean about making that statement a LOT earlier!

I loved it... I heard mixed reviews before going in.. But I was a die hard fan of the series and I think it was an extension of that.
I loved the storyline of real friendship. reminded me of just how much I love my girlfriends. Got teary eyed when they whisked her away in limo... The friends took charge.
As far as the Big situation- didnt expect that ending. But like she said, she didn't want to think with logistics. It was emotion. She loved him for better or worse- no matter what happened with them throughout those years.
I thought it was cute, I laughed out loud at time, I think the girls' lines were great- love that Samantha!!!

I had a great night with my 2 best friends, sister and cousin. So funny, some ladies in the theatre brought cosmos and were drinking them, glass and all before the movie.. :)

I think that the movie was just right. There was a lot of meaning and strength behind all of the dialogue and characters:

Charolette: The character everybody loves to hate because of perfection. Bt it wasn't always easy for her! She struggled with IF (like many of us here) and accepted it (by adopting) and in the end gets pregnant (happens all the time) when she least expected it. She worried about losing the baby and struggled with herself. I loved how she was the one that struck out at BIG! She has grown to be a strong woman!

Miranda: Compromised who she was to be with Steve. He blew it because he wasn't getting L A I D! (this happens in marriages all of the time) They showed how over extended Miranda was (work, mother, taking care of MIL, everyday life) What does Steve do? (Pretty much nothing) She struggles with her identity and struggles to forgive. Forgiveness isn't the easiest thing to do! In the end, she thinks with her heart and is able to forgive, but maybe, just not to forget!

Samatha: Came full circle as her milestone birthday approached. I like how they softened her just a bit and brought her back to who she was before the cancer! That was important. She has made it big in the business and rightly so. I thought her interaction was Carrie was great (almost motherly) and her treatment of BIG was interesting too.

Carrie: Finds what she was looking for. She always wanted to be married. She wants a family. (There has never been a mention of her family in the movie, the ladies are it) Her relationship with BIG had to come full circle. It would have been crazy for it not to! But in the end, what they wanted was each other and nothing more. They had worked out all of the other stuff and were ready to move forward! I love how she had glasses at the end (a sign of getting older)

BIG: He learned how to love and let go!

I though the costumes were great. There really wasn't much over the top. The Vogue shoot was great!

I really thought it wrapped it up nicely!

I also thought Jennifer Hudson's character was cute. It was important that the person who helped her get back on her feet, not be one of the ladies, but some one from the outside who didn't have much baggage in the relationship!

I loved it!

i loved the movie as did the friends i went with, i loved when carrie gets out of the limo and she runs to big and attacks him with her bouquet and then charlotte gets her and brings her back to the limo, i was crying

i felt like the movie was very predictable, my friend and i were always saying what was about to happen but i still really enjoyed it and as a few others have said ultimately she loved big for better or worse, and i thought the ending showed labels and fancy things don't matter, its love and good friends that matter
i liked all the storylines except samanthas i wasn't happy she left smith

eta i really didn't like most of the shoes carrie wore but i also don't like gladiatior sandals in general, loved the blue manoholos

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!!

I was an addict and thought the movie would disappoint me but I was sooooo happy walking out of there knowing that it really did the show justice. At least I thought!!!

I've been thinking about it all day today and am going to buy the series on DVD. I thoroughly miss watching them!!!

I LOVED when she beat Big with the flowers!
I LOVED when Charlotte looked at Big (after Carrie assaulted him) and said NO!

I think I'll make another trip to see it again and I am definitely purchasing it as soon as it comes out!

Anyone elses theater audience clap when the tune came on initiating the movie??? I got chills!!!! Wanted to yell...MY GIRLS ARE BACK!!!!

It was so good! I loved it!

I laughed and cried. I thought they all did an amazing job. I was so thrilled with the outcome. I want to see it again!!!!!




eta....one of my favorite parts was when Carrie ran to Miranda so she wasn't alon on New Year's and the music was playing in the back. I . That was so sweet!

OMG!!!! I thought it was amazing. I also cannot stop thinking of it...I kind of wanted to go see it again this afternoon.

I laughed and totally cried but was so happy at the ending. I am kind of sad though cause now it's like REALLY over!

My fave part...in Mexico, Charlotte s***ing in her pants. OMG

anyway...I am totally going to see it again cause I'm obsessed with the movie.

I think it was amazing and they did a great job of tying it all together for the fans.

Carrie and Big - I love how their relationship was. You could tell that they truly loved each other now and they were past the BS. They needed to add some drama to the movie and keep us guessing by making him change his mind at the last minute. He was an azz - but she completely lost sight of the "marriage" and focused more on the "Wedding"

Charlotte - I loved how she was so strong for Carrie - and you could tell - since she is such a true believer in love - it was almost like Big let her down also - by leaving Carrie like that. I loved how she yelled at him like that. "I curse the day you were born!" -- still makes me laugh thinking of how she said it. She has everything that she has ever dreamed of and when she got pregnant again and was scared something would happen I thought that couldn't be more real. I know that so many times we wonder when the bubble is going to burst.

Miranda - I'm over the entire story line honestly. Not that I condone anyone cheating at all - but give me a break. The guy was trying with her - not only psysically but emotionally - and she was treating him the way she did when they first started dating. She was def. in the wrong also and I am happy she forgave him. I also think that Miranda looked horrible the entire movie. She looked 100x better on Oprah a few weeks ago.

Samantha - I loved how motherly she was with Carrie - and picturing her feeding her in the hotel room - makes me want to tear up all over again. I liked how they made her come full circle. Oh - and loved the little pooch!

The outfits were to die for. I am obsessed with every single outfit they put on Carrie.

That closet he built her - my god - that is just heaven in itself!!

I loved loved loved it - and cannot wait to see it again!
