what do i do? facing "family" while pregnant

i guess my hormones must be getting to me

IL's are having a party next month and inviting dh's aunt and uncle we havent seen for a whole year. The last time we saw them we had to act fake because the time before that there was an explosion(how they come to dh's parties, but not dh's brother whos their godchild, how instead of remaining neutral took the other family's side on things, etc...) So i had a tough time last December being fake at the party. Fast forward to now, they didnt make any effort to get together for dinner durring the year, its only when IL's invite them for a party that they might show... Im pregnant- i'll be 24 weeks at the party. I really have no threshold to them asking me how things are, how the pregnancy is, and if they ask me about the house(which they sold to us ABOVE market value of houses down the block)- i'll feel compelled to say how the neighbors kept me up to 1:30 am blasting Rap music, how the commercial carpet unravelled so we just replaced it, along with the couch they left us that made the room reek of dog"... i just cant contain myself.

dh will be going since its his brother, do i skip the party to keep my sanity- and baby relaxed - or- do i suck it up and go so that the family is happy??

I've been sucking it up and going, but hormones are a perfect excuse for saying what you mean! Normally I try really, really hard not to say what I am thinking, but I was snapping at everyone on Christmas...and it felt GOOD! Go, and say what's on your mind!

Thats a tough one. I would usually suck it up and go. However, now that my hormones are raging I say whatever is on my mind( very unusual for me). I would suggest maybe staying home if you think that it will keep the peace in the end. Good luck.
