What do I do with old textbooks?

What do I do with old textbooks?
They don't have much value on half.com (not worth the effort of packing and mailing) and the library won't take textbooks even for the booksale. Does this mean they are trash? I hate to throw away a book! Is there anything I can do with them?

Check BN.com--go to textbooks and then to sell your textbooks (They pay for shipping). You can also try textbooksrus.com, but I didn't get a high value for my recent books for them. Also, amazon allows you to sell textbooks there too!
