What do you do with all the Crafts, Projects, Tests, School work...
My house is becoming overrun with this stuff. I don't know why I just can't seem to throw it away! I thought I had a system but now there is too much for the system. What do you do with the following: - Crafts (you know the ones that come home every holiday, every season etc. etc.) - Projects (calendars, place mats, presentations, posters etc.) - Tests (spelling, math, science etc.) - School work (journals etc.)
Please help!

My DD comes home with so much stuff. Some I keep, some I toss. I keep the crafts that come home every holiday, season and display it in my house.

I take pictures of everything then throw it in the garbage (except for a few select pieces). Then at the end of the year I make a picture book of their school year. I just finally printed my son's kindergarten year. It's awesome! Has his report card, art projects, school pictures etc. Used a groupon and got the book printed for under $20 and he loves looking at it! I'm def going to continue doing this.

I keep the special things. Anything with food items , ie pasta, or real leaves gets tossed. Most tests are tossed. Most regular homework is tossed. Most scribbles are tossed.

Trash! It has to be after a day or so. If DS finds something he made in the trash he questions me and I said it must've fallen in.
Worksheets, small art projects, etc all go in the garbage. Special art projects that took time, holiday stuff or anything with a picture gets saved or hung for a time then goes in a bin to be saved. Some holiday stuff gets trashed after the holidays. For instance... I don't need a ton of turkeys and pumkin projects to save since they'll just make it again next year. If he writes something special then it's saved.

the PTA put the school supplies in a large box. So I put all the papers in that box. So far it looks like it'll fit everything.

Binders. I put his class picture for each year, and special projects, plus one test and one homework (just kind of to remember in the future how it was). DS is in 4th grade and so far I have 2 binders from K to 3rd grade. Crafts, I keep the special ones for a couple of months and then toss.

I have a box. It's a big file box. I plan to only fill that box until 12 th grade. My mom did that and there is plenty of nice stuff of mine in there. I can look back at it, still today and I love it. So I only keep the special stuff. The stuff that has words written or special pictures.

I keep it all. Can't seem to part with any of it. We display any artwork they want for awhile then to clear storage containers.
I want them to look back on one day and decide what they want to do with it.
