What do you do with costume jewelry that you want to get rid of?
It seems a shame to just throw it out-- but, it's not really worth anything. Too much to deal with trying to selling on ebay or something like that.

I donate it. I put it in little zip locks with the big bags I bring to good will.
I do the same with shoes that are in decent shape.

If none of my sisters of friends want it, I'll donate it to the local thrift store. Sometimes, depending on what it is, I give it to my nieces to add to their dress up collection.

If you have a friend who's into jewerly making, maybe they can do something with it- reuse the chains and beads, etc. Otherwise I would dontate it.

I took a bunch of my Dh's mother's stuff to an antique type store where we used to live and he gave me a decent lump sum for the lot...

Some of it I keep (like bracelets & necklaces) for when my friends daughters or my nieces come over to play with and I donate the rest of it.

a thrift shop or even a nursing home. Many patients are long term and don't have much.
