What do you give your 4 month old for dinner?

It has been two and 1/2 weeks since I started rice cereal and so far so good.
We started bananas a week ago and it made her constipated. I started giving her applesauce on Saturday and so far so good.

She has cereal and fruit in the morning around 10:00 a.m. and when I get home from work around 6:00 p.m. I started giving her cereal and some fruit. Is this too much to give to her?

She takes it fine..I'm just afraid that I'm over feeding her.

We started solids at 6 months, but I think we did something similar. He had one meal the first week or two, and the same things for dinner. I doubt it is too much, they don't eat a lot initially anyway, and she'll probably cut back on bottle or BFing if she's full.

FYI-rice cereal and applesauce can make babies constipated too, so you may want to try oat cereal soon or another fruit. Pears, prunes, plums, and peaches all seem to be good for poop!

At 4 1/2 mos just started veggies - maybe 10 baby spoons or so, followed by a small (2-3) oz bottle.

I would throw a veggie in there. Sydnie loves her veggies. She hasn't even gotten fruit yet. She likes squash and green beans. Chat Icon

I have been giving my son around 11:30 am rice cereal and a fruit (pears is the only one he likes) and a vegy in the afternoon (he only likes carrots & sweet potatoes) I tried giving him (rice cereal & vegy/fruit) for dinner but he just seems to not want it - only a bottle.

(my son is 6 months old tomorrow)

DS just turned 4 months today. I am giving him oatmeal cereal right now. Ped just gave the ok to start veggies soon. I always liked the oatmeal better than rice because it binds them less Chat Icon
