What do you think about these hours?

Found this for a job online. Would you be happy working these hours, or not? Just curious to know what everyone thinks...

Monday – Thursday: 11-7pm
Fridays- OFF
Saturdays: 8-4pm

Re: What do you think about these hours?

My DH works similar hours (11:30am - 8pm), but M-F and off on Saturday and Sunday. He likes the shift because he gets to sleep in. I don't know how he'll like it when we have kids because he def won't be sleeping in then. I have no complaints about him working the shift.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

i would not mind at all because you can get more done in a day or sleep late, and you can get to the stores with out it being so crowded on Friday.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

I already work 10 - 6 (mostly 7) - so I would LOVE those hours.

I would kill to have Friday off and work on Saturday. Kill.

I also don't have kids.

I wouldn't because I'd miss seeing my kids.

For someone who is married, as long as there was a sit down meal regularly, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

They're ideal single person hours though. You go out after work every night, wake up late...I used to work 2-9pm in my 20s...sigh, what a fun time.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

I would really miss having 2 days off in a row, personally.

Otherwise, I think it would probably be fine. I'm happier going in early and leaving early, but this is enough time in the morning to get things done before work. Having a weekday off would be fantastic, too.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

I did them when I was younger. I'm an early bird, so I don't like those hours.

Ugh! Those hours would kill me. It's not like you have a day shift and then your nights free or a night shift with your days off. Those hours are somewhere in the middle and I feel like it would ruin my mornings and nights!!!

Also, I would hate, hate, hate not having two days off in a row!

Ditto. Now that I'm older I also like working early & getting out early. Like a pp said, I would have loved those hours in my 20s though!

Re: What do you think about these hours?

Thinking about it, I don't think I would want to work these hours. I may still apply for the job though just to see. The 11-7 sounds great. I think it is the Saturday that I would hate the most. No weekend getaways.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

Pre-kid, I would have loved the M-Th hours, but not thrilled with working Sat.

Now, forget it. Those hours would never work with my family's schedule.

The hours are cool but I def think the Saturday thing is what makes it un-appealing. If they were Tues-Sat, now that's a different story. Although having a weekday off CAN be beneficial at times. I would go and see what they say, you never know!

Love the m-th hrs. But I like weekends off--so I would prefer they were M-F.

Overall though--I wouldn't complain Chat Icon

Re: What do you think about these hours?

I wouldn't like them.

I prefer to get in early & leave early rather than go in late, get out later.

Plus I LOVE my Saturdays. I use to work Saturdays when I was in HS & every other Sunday - I hated it.

It ruined my Friday nights & I felt my weekend was over by the time I got home Saturday night.

If it was an awesome job that I couldn't pass up..I'd probably take it. I also don't have kids though. If I did, I probably wouldn't.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

Working on weedends now, I think it's not a bad schedule since I am used to work weekends.

But back in my days when I worked a "corporate" schedule, no I would not have liked working on Saturdays.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

I wouldnt like those hours... Ive had a job where sat's were required and i hated not being able to go away any weekend i wanted... also, i work now where i start early and end early... i loveeee getting home and having TONS of time to unwind... if i was getting off at 7... by the time i got home and settled in, i'd feel like i'd juts be going right back to sleep again...

i wouldn't want them.

Mainly b/c of not having 2 days off in a row. Honestly, sometimes 1 day off is a joke and doesnt really give you time to fully relax before getting back to the grind again.

i'd also always prefer to work early and get home early (ironic since i work overnights and that has worked well for us lol). But even with working o/n, i still get to sit down to dinner with DH and spend time in the evening with DD before leaving for work- those hours wouldn't allow for that.

Re: What do you think about these hours?

I work 1-9pm right now and hate it...because it's not enough of a chunk in the morning for big projects & by the time i get home i am tired...i'd rather work 8-4.
