What do you think? Ideas for miki's big girl room
We are trying to figure out what to do with miki's big girl room.
we know her furniture will be white. I saw these accessories on JCpenny.com and I wanted your thoughts
too much, too bright or cute for a toddler room?
Honest opinions please
for her walls
Lamp
bedding (there are some other colors / styles to choose from)
What color would you paint the walls?
I also wanted to add that I have ordered this storage chest for her room too

LOVE everything you picked. I would paint the room the green color of the middle lamp and white accents (trim/molding and doors.)

Thanks, she currently has a white chair rail which will stay
Would you order the green lamp or another color?
I like the whole "retro" look, not sure if she will have trouble falling asleep with all the "noise" in the room

I love all of it. I would paint the walls in 2 shades of blue....one accent wall in the bright blue on the bedspread and then maybe 2 or 3 shades lighter on the other walls. I love all colors, but in wall coverings, I would think the blue would be the least jarring in such heavy coverage.

I love everything except for the wall art, but that could be the picture too (doesn't do anything for it)

I love the colors and patterns, but I don't think that the pink storage unit will go with that whole funky look.

I know, I don't think so either
so now the decision is, Do I return the pink storage unit or find something that coordinates better with it
ahhhh, decisions, decisions
I forgot that I ordered the storage unit as it is on backorder when I began looking for accessories for her room

I LOVE that storage unit and I l LOVE the color of the wall in the picture with the unit. Personally - I would build the room around that storage unit and paint color (which will make the white furniture pop and look awesome) rather than the bright colors. IMHO, I think they are a little too intense. Don't get me wrong - I love them and think they are fun but I would think a toddler I would find it hard to relax and unwind with all those bright colors.

Re: What do you think? Ideas for miki's big girl room
Noah's bedroom is painted the same colours as the bed on the left, 3 of the walls in his room are teal blue, and the accent wall is lime green. I will try to find some photos to attach.
What I would do probably is to paint 3 walls one colour, maybe teal or turquoise, and paint the accent wall another colour, like hot pink. I love that look!
The storage unit is too princess for such an abstract room...

I think you may be right.,....I love the idea of sage and pink, that would look awesome with the white furiniture. Now to find some coordinating accessories I am having SUCH a hard time with this.
I think I may need to get my sister on the case
DRmom, are you out there? Find me some coordinating pieces that would go with a sage green/pink color scheme, PLEASE

Re: What do you think? Ideas for miki's big girl room
I love the colors and wall accents.
We have a similar storage unit. For safety, got to Babies-R-Us or Buy Buy Baby and get the things that will attach the unit to the wall. They are inexpensive and easy to install.
You don't want her climbing up for a toy, and have it come crashing down on her. I have EVERY piece of furniture in our house attched to the walls, because let's just say- Ava is full of suprises!

Re: What do you think? Ideas for miki's big girl room
As far as this storage piece, attach the frame. As far as everything else in our house, I just attach the back of the furniture to the strap, then the strap to the wall. If you see it at the store, it is pretty self expanatory. It seems intimidating, but it is really easy to do, and totally necessary for us.
My BF used to laugh at the fact that all of our furniture is "bolted" to the walls, then after having her laid back DD, she had her son, and now wants to bolt her furniture too! Best thing I ever did, for peace of mind.
