what do you think of the name Shelby?
It was just suggested to me (thanks pugmama) and I really like it. I'm thinking Shelby Shea. Now to get DH on board

Sorry - I don't really like it. Mostly bc it reminds me of a really annoying girl in college. I do like Shea though.

That was my first thought too. My second thought was Billy Crystal making fun of Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally. Yea I know that was Sheldon, but it was still the second thing I thought of.

I think it's a great name and reminds me of Steel Magnolias too - but I love Julia Roberts in that movie...so it's not a bad thing to remind me of. I'm not a huge fan of Shea...I think of Shea Stadium.

I think Shelby is a pretty name, def reminds me of Steel Magnolias, but I love that movie. I like Shea too, but just not together, i have a thing for the 1st and middle name starting with the same letter. But that's just me.

It's Maddie's middle name. DH picked it after the Steel Magnolia's character (the only girlie movie he likes) & the Ford Shelby Cobra

I have an evil stepcousin named Shelby... but we usually call her Bratley behind her back (her dad is Bradley). So it's a nice name, but it doesn't have a good person associated with it to me.

I drove a shelby mustang for a little while - makes me think of a car.
If I met a baby with the name though I'm sure it would change my impression.

I love the name. I asked DH about it when I found out I was having a girl and he told me no way - it was a name for a car, and being in the car business himself, he couldn't do that to his daughter.

I was just going to say the same thing (great minds ) I like Shelby or Shea, but not together.
Shelby was one of the few names we agreed on because DH is a Mustang guy, so he liked Shelby.
