What do you use for gas?

My poor baby is so so gassy and its killing me to hear her crying in pain, its a totally different cry than a fussy cry.
We took her to the doctor and he said she's fine but she farts so much and seems like her stomach is cramping. She has hardly slept today because every time she falls off she wakes up crying and scrunching up.
I am going to try Mylicon drops and see if that helps. Any other tricks? The doc said he didn't think it was reflux so we're in a wait and see mode right now.

Re: What do you use for gas?

I was jusdt there this week so I know how horrible it is, I tied Gripe water because everyone raves about it, but it didn't work, spo we used the old chammomile tea remedy. in about 1-2 oz of luke warm water, swirl around a chammomile tea bag until the water gets colored, add 1/2 tbs of brown sugar, it worked fr us!! i also use the miracle blanket, it really helps to soothe a fussy baby and i cut ALL gassy things out of my diet and startted guzzling water, it helps tp dilute any foods in your system that may be irritating to the baby. Also, burp her every 5 minutes and try to limit crying since it increases air swallowed. good luck, it is so rough, but she'll get over it!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm embarrased to ask this but do you drink the tea or give it to baby? I want to give it a try. TIA

Jen - We went through our first gassy screaming night last night. I spoke w/ the pedi and she suggested the mylicon drops and breaking up his feedings a little more (I'm bf'ing - you?) She suggested just 5 mins then burp then 5 more then burp and switch and repeat. Good luck!Chat Icon
