What do you use to apply your foundation?
I normally just use my fingertips but was told this is a no no because of bacteria on them? Should I buy some sponges? What gives better coverage?

I use my fingers. Ive been using them for years and have had no issues with bacteria.

Won't a sponge hold bacteria unless you use a new sponge everytime you apply makeup? 
I use my finger and then use a damp sponge to remove excess foundation and blend.

I use my fingers. I find the sponge or whatever other aplicater you are going to use miss spots. IF and when I wear foundation it is done with the fingers.

I don't wear foundation everyday but when I do I usually use a triangle sponge, which I throw out after each use.

The one from MAC. I love it!!
ETA: The mac makeup artist suggest this because a. limits bacteria b.less foundation to use, distributes a lot
c.saves on foundation
Sponges tend to soak up the foundation therefore you use alot more of it.
Also, the fiber tip feels pretty nice on your face.

Bare Escentuals: Brush
I would use a sponge for the liquid, but I always forget to pick them up.

a cosmetic sponge you can buy them in a bag of like 20 and they are only $1.99 at CVS i like it better i find it blends better

I use whatever I'm in the mood for (brush, fingers, etc) BUT what I do to prevent any possible bacteria issues is that I put a small amount on the back of my hand and then use my finger or brush or sponge. This way, the tool that I'm using wont spread bacteria to the tube or pot of foundation. Make sense?

i do the same thing w/ the back of my hand. i apply a few drops and then use my fingertips or sponge to blend on face. i do this because i think it is an easier technique. never thought of the bacteria.
