Kevin is allergic to milk so getting a variety of foods into his diet that he will eat is a big concern for me.
He eats:
Cereal (cheerios) for breakfast
Snacks: Dole fruit cups or fresh fruit (especially cantaloupe, blueberries and bananas)
Lunch: turkey or ham or a scrambled egg
Dinner: chicken nuggets, teriyaki meatlof, hot dog, plain pasta and veggies or if I make a "allergy-friendly meal' and he won't eat it - I still give him oatmeal.
I keep looking for dairy free recipes for him but its hard to find ones that a 1 year old will eat.
I'd try adding some "hidden" veggies into meal (ex: adding minced zucchini into meatloaf, diced veggies into mac - n - cheese, more veggies into tomato sauce.)
I never knew feeding my child would be so hard!
Do you use soy milk?

Re: What do your children eat?????
I am confused how this ended up in a debate
Anyway, for the original poster, you are NOT alone in this. I think at one point or another children, no matter what age, become picky... But here's a list of what my son eats:
pancakes waffles bagels w/ cream cheese Kix grilled cheese chick nuggets mac and cheese fries chick culets roast beef chick soup corn carrots turkey ham yogurt drinkable yogurts cheese sandwiches baked ziti hot dogs cucumbers (with spinach dip) pizza
Snacks: goldfish crackers chips ahoy or oreo thin crisps (the 100 calorie bags) cheese nips pretzles with dip fruit cups
Basically, he'll eat pretty much what we eat, except of course on those days when he is picky.
Good luck! Things will get better, then worse, then better again! Hang in there!

Re: What do your children eat?????
Hello. I posted this question a wek ago, and I haven't really had the chance to sit down and read your responses until now. I was really kind of surprised at all the controversy that has come out of asking a simple question.
I want to begin by saying that I am the Mom of two ... one perfectly developed child and one special needs child. I am a wonderful, adventurous cook and baker. I have tried ... and continue to try on a daily basis ... to cook good, healthy meals for both my children. They simply don't eat! My daughter who is 3 1/2 used to eat fruit, vegetables, etc. as a baby ... no problem at all. Now ... it's a completely different story. Yes, we have hysteria at the dinner table sometimes ... yes, she's been sent to her room for refusing to even try certain things ... yes, I've spoken to the doctor about this ... do you want to know his answer??? Children's eating habits go through different stages. She may eat chicken today and not it eat for the next six months. She is normal, of a good weight, good bloodwork, good teeth, etc. He tells me to work within her diet and continue to offer new things. Now, my son ... he is a special needs child ... seizure disorder, ataxia, apraxia, functionally deaf, developmentally delayed. He ate vegetables and fruits as a baby ... it took 2 1/2 hours to get them into him and he would throw them up an hour later ... but we continued to try. Now, he's 6. He eats chicken nuggets every single day of his life. He eats pudding every single day of his life. He eats goldfish every single day of his life. The doctors philisophy on him??? Just get the food into him and keep his weight up ... we'll worry about proper diet later. The Neurologist's rule ... he suffers from hyponatremia ... he needs to eat salty foods all day long. Two very different children ... two very different eating habits and patterns ... one Mommy who has done everything within my realm to keep by babies happy and healthy. Am I a bad mother or a lazy mother for feeding my son potato chips at 11 AM to keep his sodium up????? NO.
I get upset when I see you ladies attacking each other over this stupid subject ... and yes ... it is stupid at this point. YOU ARE ALL GOOD MOTHERS ... You are all doing what you feel is right for your own child.
No one knows what works or doesn't work for another until they walk in their shoes for a day ... a week ... a year. PLEASE ... I was asking a simple, curious question when I started this post. Thanks for the answers, but now I'm sorry I asked in the first place.
Please stop attacking each other and thinking that someone is "talking about you" when they post a response.
Let's just end it here.

I applaud you for what you said and what you do. It takes a special person to be a special needs mommy and to do it with such grace
PS- The oatmeal with dinosaurs worked. Maybe they make one with princesses for your daughter.

Re: What do your children eat?????
I should buy the oatmeal with dinosaurs for DH- maybe that would help HIM eat more healthfully.
