What does heartburn feel like?
i dont think ive ever had it but right now i have a piercing pain in right under my rib cage.
could it be heartburn?

there are all different kinds of it - mostly it's a burning, acidic feeling in your throat or belly...
sharp pain could just be the baby pushing on something he/she shouldn't be..

No my pain is too high up. Its def not the baby. Its food/eating related.

My esophagus feels like it is on fire. Also for me, I have a nasty acidy taste in my mouth and I can feel whatever I ate sitting in my throat

I had the exact feeling you described yesterday and I was wondering if it was heartburn too. It was way too high to be baby, it was just a pain above my rib, right below my boob - it didn't last too long but I wasn't sure what it was.

For me it's not necessarilly a pain, but a horribly burning kind of feeling in my throat....it gets so bad I feel as though I need to puke

it sounds like u can have gas. heartburn is literally burning feeling in ur chest and through (acid reflux).

I had this a few weeks ago. Woke up at 3am from the pain. Tums did not work so I am not sure if it was heartburn, but I drank an entire bottle of seltzer and that really did the trick.

reflux i feel the burning in my throat/espohgaus. when i get gas pains or hearburn, i tend to feel it under my boobs..sometimes on the left side and i think im having a heart attack..LOL
so it sounds like it can be a bad case of that going on. sucks...sorry!

OH MY GOD...thats what i complained about the most early on was the FOULNESS that was left in my mouth. I couldnt even eat saltines b/c the aftertaste they left..woooff...barf city. all i did was chew gum. I thought i was going to end up having a huge cavity from all the gum and mints.
its soo gross!!

I've never had it until this pregnancy and trust me there is no mistaking it! It truly burns!!!! You will probably feel it/ make it worse when your lying down

I never had it until I was pregnant, and for me it was one of those "you'll know it when you feel it." But I'd say if you think it might be heartbearn, take a Pepcid Complete. if it goes away, it was heart burn.
BTW- my OB told me Tums did nothing for heartburn and that Pepcid Complete was the best thing for it. For me, he was totally, 100% correct. Pepcid Complete was a lifesaver for me.
