What does modified CIO mean???
I need tips. I know Paige is too young. She is a week shy of 4 months old. Everynight i have to rock her to sleep and her naps arent that great. She needs movement to fall asleep.
She is also swaddled and i feel like she doesnt want to be swaddled anymore but when i rock her to sleep without the swaddle and then put her in the crib she wakes up. I guess its because her limbs are loose.
I want her to get out of the habit of being rocked.
ETA I know what CIO means, just not the modified part.

Re: What does modified CIO mean???
I dont know much about CIO, I just cant bring myself to do that....but I just wanted to say that my DD HAD to be rocked to sleep at night and also for naps. I worried that Id be rocking her till she was a toddler. BUT, all by herself she just got out of the habit - at about 5 mths. Some babies just really need that to be soothed when they are very young.

Re: What does modified CIO mean???
Why does she have to get out of that habit? I still rock Steven and I actually HOPE he wants to be rocked for a long time to come.
Actually, I rock him untill he is closing his eyes or until the music is up and then I put him in his crib. I never rock him until he is fully asleep.
I think your dd may be waking up because she fell asleep being rocked, then it stopped. I recommend you try rocking her until she is falling asleep, but not yet sleeping, then put her in her crib and sooth her until she falls asleep.
Good luck!
