What does the "station" of the baby mean?
As of Wed. I was 3cm dialated, 100% effaced and "-1 station". What does that mean, the station part? Thanks!

Thanks. Do I want to hear positive numbers or negative numbers?
This is all so confusing!

Re: What does the "station" of the baby mean?
you want to hear positive numbers
I think the stations go from -4 (starting at the top of your uterus) down to +4 (in the canal and ready to push)

Re: What does the "station" of the baby mean?
Yes, the station means how far down the baby is through the pelvis. The numbers go from negative 4 to positive 4. You want to be at +4 to deliver.
