Re: What ear thermometer do you have?
Those aren't really accurate in infants and aren't recommended. A rectal or oral are better.

Ear thermometer usually after they are 1 year, but I still do rectal tempson my 2 year old, those othermethids are not fool proof and vary in readings.

That is kind of weird, but here is a 3 in 1 that has good reviews, that way you have all three options.

Re: What ear thermometer do you have?
I don't remember what brand we have, but they are great for getting a general reading. We've checked DC's temps in the middle of the night without waking them. If they are sick, they are usually cranky, and it's much easier to get an ear temp from a cranky 4yo than rectal or oral.
I've said it a few times, and I don't mind repeating. Accuracy is relative. I don't care about the difference between 98.6 and 99. 100.5 and 101 are the same. 102 and 103 are about the same. I just care about "normal", "slightly elevated" or "feverish". I can find that out in seconds with the ear thermometer, and start an appropriate remedy immediately, instead of waking up DC, undressing them, getting a rectal, finding out they are OK, then trying to get them to sleep again.
We also check the temp on ourselves, just to get a baseline reading. It's always been accurate enough.
