What flowers are good in crazy sun?
We are redoing our backyard next week, so Im planning on spiffing it up. I bought some planters and am going to attemp to plant something and keep it alive. My backyard gets silly sun all day, there is only about 3 hours in the morning where it doesnt. What can I plant and hopefully keep alive? As I can kill a cactus.

I would say sun flowers, but I *think* I read recently that they soak up most of their sun in the morning hours- so that may not work. I could be wrong though!

Ech, i think im the onlyperson in the world who hates sunflowers. They are boring, and my little terror would try and climb the damn things

my front beds are full sun, and I've had much luck with dahlias, petunias and geraniums.

OMG we have a SUPER sunny spot on our house. I have planted Hibiscus. They do awesome in crazy sun

petunias love sun, i find them very easy to grow and they spread
the only issue is water- they need it every day ..sometimes 2x a day on hot days. if you skimp they could die
but if you are a consistent waterer, every morning when you wake up, they will do beautifully

You have a ton of options. Full sun is a great exposure to have. Some of my favorites that are soaking up the full sun side of my property:
Echinacea (Purple Coneflower)
Black Eyed Susan
Canna Lilies
Gaillardia
Daylilies
Roses
Dianthus
Coreopsis
Caryopteris
Ornamental Grass
Butterfly Bush
Mock Orange
Purple Smokebush
Verbena
Spirea
Monarda (careful with the type, these can be bossy/invasive)
Anthemis
Agastache (careful with the type, these can be bossy/invasive)
