What happens when you have conflicting parties to go to?
DD has a Halloween party next Friday, I knew about this one first. Then a co-worker is having a housewarming party that Friday. But i chose the kids part over the housewarming. I figured she would have more fun then the housewarming. Now none of my co-workers have kids so no one understands but i hate getting the guilt trip for not going. And going to both is totally out of the question becasue they are in opposite directions. But my question is how do you choose what party to go to, if you have the same situation.

I try to make it to both. If not, it's whoever's invitation I got first and responded to first.

Unless it is a family member, I go to the party where we were invited first.

I'd either do it based on whatever invite came first or whomever I am closer to.

I go to the one I got first OR I choose the one I prefer and tell a big fat lie that its a family thing and enjoy myself. Go and enjoy yourself. Tell your co-workers that you already promised your dd and she would be too disappointed or whatever you have to say to get them off your back. Or blame your husband.
