What is dinner time like in your house?
Please tell me it is complete chaos!!!
Everyday I say it is not going to be chaotic and everyday I am wrong.
Someone always cries
Someone always spills their drink
The baby always throws his food on the floor
I am constantly getting up for something
There is always whining
There is always a battle to finish their veggies/dinner
Utensils are dropped on the floor about 100 times
Please tell me I'm not alone!

We only have 1 toddler and it is complete chaos!
DH and I went out for our anniversary without the baby on Saturday and I made us take nearly 3 hours to eat because i enjoyed the lack of multitasking that much!

What is dinner time like in your house?
I have one and I'm constantly getting up. I have not had a fresh out of the oven meal since she's been born. I always end up throwing it in the microwave.

What is dinner time like in your house?
Every single night!!! Tonight the baby cried through the entire meal and didn't eat a thing. THE ENTIRE MEAL!!!! All of those things you mentioned above went on tonight at this house and it's pretty much a regular! I'm just about finished with a huge glass of wine and probably heading for my second....Their in bed now!!

I feed the girls first then if they are good watching tv and im hungry ill wolf something down. Other nights like tonight, I eat at 8:30 when they are in bed and the kitchen is cleaned up.

That is how our house is if we eat with the kids . . . Which is why we feed the kids early (530ish), put them to bed then have dinner in peace at 8-830.
I'm sure this will eventually change but it works for us now. We ate this late before kids were in the picture so it's not like we really changed our routine.

my ds cries too and has begun to refuse to eat!!! I eat my dinner by shoveling it in.
Opening wine now!

we need to start doing this again a few days a week. We used to all the time but stopped!

dd1 will stand on her chair. pour a ton of sauce on her plate. run in the other room to watch tv. i feel like we do a lot of bribing to get her to eat.
cooking dinner is almost impossible now, dd1 loves to help which is great but dd2 is up and crying

That pretty much sounds like dinner time at our house and we only have 1 DD!
Most days, I'm jumping up to get her more food because she eats a ridiculous amount, so those days, I don't necessarily mind. But nights like last night, it was all throwing and screaming and crying with DH and I scarfing our food down as quickly as possible.
Then DD went to bed and then the beer and ice cream came out...

Dinner time until they are asleep is chaos at our house. My girls are so cranky and picky I sometimes feel like dinner time is a waste. I end up throwing 1/2 the food out and they spend most of the time whining for something different than is being served! I'm hoping it gets better soon!

We eat as a family. Its something that is very important to us, and we will continue to do so.
We just moved my 2 1/2 year old son to the table and out of the high chair- We eat around 6-630.
I make one meal bc my son is a great eater and isn't picky.

What is dinner time like in your house?
We eat as a family. I don't let ds stand or run around during dinner. I set those rules very early. And if he acts up then it's timeout and no dinner. Dinner is his smallest meal anyway so he doesn't miss it if he skips it here and there.

I definitely feel like I never sit down, someone alwyas needs something.
The kids are constantly getting out of their seats. We started a chart, they get a mark if they don't sit still (unless it's to go to the bathroom).
It is always loud and they talk over each other and forget about me and DH having a decent conversation.
There are days when they refuse to eat what I make them.
Some days it gets to me, some days I just have to laugh about the craziness. Glad to hear we are normal

pure chaos to the extreme.
DH gets home with the kids at 545, ive been home for 30 mins trying to tidy up, vacuum, put laundry away etc.
Once he is home, DD is either in the highchair having a small before bed snack (she goes down at 630 after a bottle, her dinner is at 430 at daycare).
DS gets washed up and we try to get him to sit at the table which is the ultimate challenge. He is walking around, trying to play with everything, bothering his sister... The number I times we say "jack sit down", "jack leave grace alone" is just nauseating!
DS eats from 6-630 while one of us is putting DD to bed.
We don't eat until 8ish once DS is settled in his room.
I am tired thinking about how crazy 5-8pm is.

lol I agree. I have 1 dd and it's chaos and she's a terrible eater to top it off. God bless you for handling 3!!!

Yes this is us. Dinner time is awful. We decided to eat with them other night and it was awful. Lol. We eat after they are in bed.

they eat at 5:30 either with the nanny or dh.
we eat after they go to bed. as much as i hate that they dont eat with us, i dont get home till 630. by then theyre ready for bed so it wouldnt be fair for me to keep them awake (they go to bed by 715)
