Re: What is the going rate for the tooth fairy?
My last boss said that in his dd's school it seemed like all the kids get a gold coin (Sacagewa dollar) for their first tooth. He said his dd was talking about it for months before she lost the tooth.

Re: What is the going rate for the tooth fairy?
In our house, its $10 a tooth. But, I have to say that my ten year old was a later teether, and to date has only lost 6 teeth. So she is fond of telling me that she's heard that the tooth fairy is an educated woman who does pretty well and may have even gone to law school.

Re: What is the going rate for the tooth fairy?
Friends of ours gave freakin' $50 for the first tooth.
Boy were those kids disappointed with the $5 for each tooth afterwards

Re: What is the going rate for the tooth fairy?
We did $10 for the first tooth, and then $5 for the next few, and now that she just lost her 5th tooth, we went down to $2 a tooth.

Re: What is the going rate for the tooth fairy?
My step-daughter used to get $5 a tooth. Once she spilled the beans about how she knows there is no tooth fairy and she saw daddy put money under her pillow...that was the end of the game, and the tooth fairy never came back

Did you get the Build A Bear pillow recently? My DD loves that place, but I didn't see the pillow on their website. Thanks!

Same here. Always more for the first. A nice little touch is to leave "fairy dust" on the windowsil or in an envelope with the money

Re: What is the going rate for the tooth fairy?
DD just lost her first 2 teeth and she's not even 4 yet! Needless to say she's not into "paper" money so our tooth fairly brings princess toys! I wonder how long toys will out weigh "paper money"
