alterations? I have a bridesmaid dress that needs to be hemmed and taken in (possibly with cups added) and I can't get it done at the bridal shop where it was ordered from.
I called a few local dry cleaners this morning and they said about $25-30 for a hem, $35+ for being taken in. Does that sound right? (when I called I didn't say the words "bridesmaid dress" just "dress" although once I bring it in, it will probably be pretty obvious that it's a bridesmaid dress)

I just had a BM dress altered this month.
the dress shop tried to charge me $75 + tax
a local dry cleaner that i find a little expensive for most things wanted $40
an italian woman (in her kitchen) near my parents house was $20. I went with her.

I agree w/Shorty...I tend to stick w/local seamstresses or dry cleaners.
