On bankrate, it's 6.22% for 30 yr fixed mtg.
Edited to say that I just read that that % may include points.
But I'm in the process of closing and we got 2 rates. 1 for 6.375% and one for 6.5%; both with no points.

Yes, I would say so. They aren't the 5% that there were in 2005, but they are still good.

I have a question - If one were to go through BOA is it the same rate given for everyone? If it's 6.375% for one would BOA honor that rate for all? How does this work?
Does it depend on the percentage you put down or does the rate have nothing to do with that?

Hi, it's based on alot of factors. how much $ you put down, amount of the mortgage, credit, etc.

I have not heard of 6.375 anywhere right now. I think that the lowest without points is 6.625. If you see anything lower, you most likely will have to pay points, which can be anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 dollars.

6.5% today with Chase. I just locked w/ no points.
