What is up with the people next door?
Our old neighbors moved out of the house next door (they are in the process of foreclosure and bankruptcy). They have a bunch of people renting the house next door (we have counted 3 families so far). They haven't caused us any problems until this past weekend. I woke up yesterday to find tracks in the snow telling us that they parked/drove their cars on my front lawn next to my house. Their car ended up being about 3 feet from DS's bedroom window! Then this morning I was DS was just starting to wake up and I was trying to get him to sleep a little bit longer one of the women let her car warm up with the radio BLASTING music. DS started to wake up and then I was awake...and then it was all over.
One of the men in the house uses a work van that is very loud when he warms it up in the morning and we have tried to ignore it b/c the guy has to work and there is nothing he can do about a company issued vehicle. But, after yesterday when they drove/parked on our lawn and then this morning with the radio blasting..I was going crazy! DH and I are very frustrated!
Just needed to vent.

Sorry, that must be very frustrating. Is there anyway you can speak to your neighbor @ this?

Well, I asked the old neighbors to ask them not to drive/pakr on our property and she said she would let them know. I've gone over there to intorduce myself and try to be friendly but the kids answered the door and the mom never came out. They haven't come by to say hello and introduce themselvles. We figured they want to keep to themselves.
One of the other woman that lives there is constantly sitting in her jeep in the driveway beeping her horn for people to come out. DH said this went on for 20 minutes the other night when I was at work. We don't really know them so we don't know how they would respond to us saying something to them. But, if it continues I think we might be forced to.

Re: What is up with the people next door?
OK, so I'm a pretty laid back person and I really don't like to get involved or try to start trouble with neighbors, but there's really so much that is wrong with this situation.
(1) Is you're neighborhood zoned for 3 family living? (2) Is the neighbor's vehicle commercial? It may be that your area is not zoned for parking commercial vehicles and he may actually be in violation of local zoning ordinances! (3) NO ONE should be parking their car on your property.
Many times when people are in foreclosure, they are very disrespectful of their property and add renters to that mix I would seriously do some investigative work about the rules regarding some of their behavior and if it continues (which I think that it will ), I would get the authorities involved.
Unfortunately, evication can take months, and you could be stuck with these people and their rude behavior for quite some time. Also, bankruptcy stalls the foreclosure process, so this could drag on for that reason as well. And the bank (or third party bidder) needs to be the legal owner of the property before they can even start trying to evict them.
I am very sorry that you are dealing with this. GL

ok, some background information. The people that are living in the home are renting from the people that are foreclosing. The people foreclosing moved to another town and only stop by to collect the rent 1x per month.
(1) Is you're neighborhood zoned for 3 family living? NO, the house is NOT zoned for 3 families! It is a single family home with 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms in the basement. There is a family of 6 (4 children 2 adults), a family of 3 (1 adult 2 children), and we think a family of about 2 (1 adult 1 child) living in the home.
(2) Is the neighbor's vehicle commercial? Honestly, I'd have to check this out. It is a big van that he uses. He is an electrician (it says it on the side of the van). This is something to look into.
Honestly, we wouldn't even say anything because we'd like to keep to ourselves but they are waking us all up (especially DS) when we are trying to sleep...and as you know sleep is very previous when you have an infant.
