What is/was your baby's going home outfit?
Was is just a sleeper or did you buy an actual outfit? Can you tell I am ready for this baby to come?

Re: What is/was your baby's going home outfit?
My MIL is insisting that it be an "outfit". We picked out something cute that has a onesie and pants to match (then she had something to say about it being pants and not a skirt for a girl) blah...blah...blah.
So, yes - an outfit is better than a sleepy.

I picked out a 2 piece microfleece sweatsuit. Something like this

That is too funny! I have that exact same outfit! It's a newborn size and I'm worried it won't fit. Should I get the next size just in case?

Great minds think alike The one I got is actually white and lavendar and says "cutie" - I got it in newborn too. I just brought a sleeper in 0-3 in case it doesn't fit, but they are generally so skinny when they are born I'm thinking it should be ok.

I think a one piece is better. I did bring home DS in a 2 piece out fit and never thought about the umbical cord, the pants need to above it and then the pants are hiked up all the way. For the next one I plan on getting a nice sleepy

I'm still going back and forth on this. I'd probably take both and decide at the hospital.

My mom put a dress on me- and it's still floating around her house somewhere. I am tempted to put that on her if we are able to find it.

The thing is that even if you have a onesie underneath, you do not want the waistband of the pants putting pressure on their little nubbie thing

I was just checking the BabyRUs website. They now have an Onesie perfect for this. I printed it out and will go tomorrow to the store to see if they have them. I also read on a magazine of pampers that are cut and open right at the umbilical chord area to use while it heals. I've not been successful in finding any of them in the stores and I don't remember where I read it so taht I can see who makes them. Here is a picture of the onesies at BabyRUS.Image Attachment(s):

Re: What is/was your baby's going home outfit?
While the onesies with the cut out area for the belly button are cute...in my opinion, they aren't worth it...keep in mind that you wouldn't just have your child in that onesie, they need to be bundled in the beginning especially because their bodies cant regulate their temperature. You will be putting a blanket around them as well, and something is bound to touch the belly button!
I agree with no pants that have waistbands...but a regular onesie over a folded over diaper, and then a gown is perfect....those were the BEST things in the beginning!! Easy access for diaper changes too...basically anything that is one piece or loose is perfect!

Re: What is/was your baby's going home outfit?
a onesie, a hat and a full jacket that has the feet and hands enclosed and it has a hood. Its a thick jacket, then I will wrap a blanket around the baby if it is really cold out and I feel like the jacket is not enough. the jacket is really puffy and thick.
