What kind of bicycle for 5 year old?
My DD has a 16 inch bicycle and it is getting too small for her. I was thinking of getting her a new bike for her birthday but what size? 20 inch? 24 inch? Also, can you put training wheels on the bigger bikes?

She's going to be way too small for a 24 inch, probably even a 20 inch. I'm pretty sure you can put training wheels on a 20 inch but you might have to purchase them separately. And make sure the rear axel is large enough to allow for them to be attached if you get them separately. DD was 6 in July and we got her an 18 inch. It's really the ideal size for this age, I'm surprised they don't make more in this size. DS also had an 18 inch (actually still has and he has totally outgrown it but his bday is coming....) After she sheds the training wheels, you can buy a kickstand.
You can try her on a 20 inch but my DD has to be bigger than her and it was huge for her.

My six year old son is tall, over 4 ft and riding a 20 inch bike. He has no training wheels. I would not recommend learning on a larger bike. The smaller, the easier. I say, teach her first and then move up to larger size. But yes, they sell training wheels for that size bike.
