What kind of Dr for anxiety??

I am unsure what/if any medication I can be on as I am almost 18 wks PG.

Since becoming PG I have been having more and more anxiety- mostly related to money, but that's not the only issue. I feel it affecting me physically, mentally and emotionally.

DH hasn't been too supportive b/c he thinks it's in my head and if he says "Dont worry, everything will be okay." I will automatically BE okay.

My mom suffered from anxiety attacks (need to ask what age her first "real" big one was) and I'm fearing the same in me.

Would I see my regular doctor? A psychiatrist?

I would talk to your OB first then your reg. doc. Mine started after I had my 3rd child . I hope you feel better soon

I would start with a therapist. That way you have someone to talk to about everything. It may take a few sessions to see if the person is a good fit and don't hesitate to find someone new if you are not clicking with the therapist. A good therapist should be able to not only listen but give you some coping strategies to get through the day with less anxiety. It sounds like you have some mild to moderate aniety and you want to find ways to control it. I would stay away from a therapist who pushes for you to go to an MD also and get medication. I've done a lot of research on this because of my mother's issues with very unethicial and bad Psychaitrists.
