What kind of exercise routines are you doing...

each trimester? I just want to get an idea of what other people are doing. I was planning on running as long as possible because I've read if you did before you can do it just listen to you body for pain and stay hydrated. I'd like to also swim more. I just don't want to stop exercising.

I am on limited rest, so I have stopped working out, but once Dr gives me the OK I am going back to Yoga & some low-impact isometrics - especially for my upper arms & back.

I'm about 9 weeks and I'm going to start spinning again. I was going 3x a week before the wedding and then I stopped. I don't think I'll be going that crazy again, but I bought a heart monitor and my spin teacher is actually 5/6 months pregnant and she's fully aware that I am too, so she's keeping an eye on me.

I waited to get back into it until I saw my doctor and got the OK.

I was not allowed to workout during my 1st trimester. A bummer for me. So soon as the 2nd trimester came...(just recently) I got cleared to excercise.

So my routine is cardio- elliptical trainer
for about 45 min to 1hr, I may switch off to stationary bike at times.

I also weight train. I do all body parts but nothing heavy just to get me back into some shape.

Doc even tells me to continue working out , doing abs until I cant due to a belly.

In the end, labor will be much easier so I intend on working out as much as I can and also to be able to keep weight to a min and be able to lose it quickly.

i've been doing cardio kickboxing and some elliptical. my dr. told me to take it easy this week, after i had some spotting. but i plan on going back. i'm going to order a heart rate monitor though, 140 bpm is not that much leeway. Chat Icon

i am not doing much right now b/c i did do a workout and had some cramping a few weeks ago. it's just not worth it. i'm going to wait until my 2nd trimester and then i am joining a local yoga studio that has prenatal classes...nothing high-impact.

this is hard for me b/c i was working out about 4-5 times a week before i got pregnant.

I am doing the bike for like 30 minutes every other day. My doc told me to take it easy for the first trimester b/c i had a miscarriage in Sept.

Definitely a good thing to invest in. As long as you keep your heart rate BELOW 140 you should be OK, depending on what your doctor has told you.

I ran (well jogged, b/c that was all I could do PG) throughout my entire first pregnancy (well not the last 2 weeks or so)


I plan on it this time too. I was very active until the week I begame PG and then got a cold so I have been slacking, but I am hoping the OB OKs it this time too!

I walk briskly to and from work and most days on my lunch hour. I haven't been doing anything I didn't do before but I have lost 5-6 lbs in two weeks - I am NOT dieting and my dr wasn't worried - told me to keep it up just make sure any exercise I do keeps my heartrate under 140bpm.

1st Trimester- I still did taught and did Ashtanga yoga- I just modified certain poses. I also worked out at Curves.
Beginning of 2nd Trimester- stopped teaching yoga but still took classes occasionally. Continued with Curves.
Later 2nd trimester through now- no more yoga- I need a prenatal class but have to find one. Still do Curves but only 3 days a week. I sleep much better when I work out.

1st trimemster I am high risk, not able to excercise..I asked the dr what I could second and third, he said modified excercise.

I bought a Pregnancy DVD to do at home.
