Re: Gender a surprise...

I have a question for those of you not finding out, do other people give you the ol', "OMG! Why aren't you finding out?!?!"
Because I get the opposite all the time of, "OMG! WHY are you finding out?!?!" Just wondering if people like to be negative no matter what decision you makeChat Icon

Totally get that. Or the brilliant observation "So I guess it could be a boy or a girl" I always wanted to say "Actually, we're hoping for a puppy." Really, how stupid is that?

I never found - I think it gives more of a surprise to the birth - and give you something additional to look forward to...(for me it was a huge surprise)

My sister found out - and everyone said "So did you name her Samantha?" When I had my kids it was "What did she have?!"

It just seemed like my family was more excited for the baby's actual birthday.

Totally agree! It keeps EVERYONE in suspense. The whole build up... I feel like everyone will want to know the day the baby is born. Otherwise, when told that I had the baby, they'd probably be like "awww, that's nice", and that's it... Chat Icon

One of my friends said to me, "I HOPE you're going to find out!" (as if not finding out is the stupidest thing ever) and I was like, "Uh, NO" Chat Icon
But the first thing that everyone asks me when they find out that I'm PG is, "are you going to find out if it's a girl or a boy?" Chat Icon

I think my 5 year old niece was the smartest...everyone was going around trying to guess what i was having...and they asked her. She said "I think you're going to have a boy or a girl."

I realize why they pressure you so much - they see all of the clothes they can buy...
