Would you prefer to work with men or women?

I recently saw this question asked and was really intrigued by the responses.

I've worked with the extremes, as I've had 2 jobs for 10 years. I worked at an ad agency where the entire department was women and on the weekends, I work in a sports department with all men.

I have never seen as much "drama" as working with women.

I've also never had any ANY issues with the men I work with.

Needless to say, if given the choice, I think it would have to be either all men, or a mix of men and women-

What's your opinion/choice?

I agree that I'd rather work with all men than all women. If you've been watching the Apprentice this season, it's a great example that groups of all women just don't seem to work out. I'm sure people will disagree though

I would prefer to work with an even mix of men and women. Don't think I can take all that testosterone if it was all men. Right now I work with majority of women and boy do they get catty!

Without question, I prefer to work with men, and I prefer to work FOR a man. So much less cattiness. I can see a huge difference in the Partners I work with in how they do things between the men and women.

The men seem to take my suggestions better and actually listen to me as opposed to some of the women.

Thankfully, my department is only 3 people (2 women and 1 man) and we get along really well.

I prefer to work with all men or a mix of men and women. Right now my whole department are women and the drama that goes on is ridiculous!

I work with all women now- in the beginning it was tough getting used to it, but now I really really like it. I work with men a lot on the project teams for my MBA and they are very difficult to work with now- they are too linear in their thinking & **** and multitasking... I find I am the one to always take charge and delegate to them....

I tend to think women don't want to work with all women b/c they aren't used to it and have sexist misconceptions of their own sex that just aren't true. Let's face it- all these myths of women are all started by men!!!
Also- women do not have the experience working with just women as there aren't too many places in the workplace that are all women...
It sort of annoys me.

I rather work whereit is mostly men. I am leaving my job where most of the people are men and going to a place where there is mostly women. I dont know how Im going to fo it

I've worked in both and OMG, DEFINITELY better to work with all men, hands down.

I've worked with both. Less catty w/ more guys but my coworkers are cool. I can't complain!!

I work with both men and women, but I would have to say there are more men, where I work. I prefer working with men. But an even mix is fine with me, as long as the women in the office don't get too chatty!

I used to work in a small office with mostly women. Now I work with mostly men. What a huge difference. I would prefer to work with men.

ALL MEN-
My past jobs have all been mostly 98% all women. My current job is 96% men. To say I love it is an understatement.

It depends..

if you worked with all women who want different goals, and all want the main job and cant work together-- My answer would be men..

I used to "work" with mary kay and my group consisted of a bunch of different aged women who all wanted to change and motivate their own lives.. without being catty and rediculous.. That situation I would say ladies..

Through the many jobs I had, men I noticed could be more devious and "backstabbing" --especially in Coporate america... lol.. or retail..

Ok.. I guess my answer then would have to be I would rather work for myself!

Thank you for your responses!!! For a while, I use to think it was ME, thought I had some sort of problem that I didn't get along with the other women. Now, I know that's not really true, that I just had more self confidence and never ever was after anyone's job etc... I don't have the time of day or really care about what type of jeans someone's wearing or where they shop! If my FH at the time and I went out to dinner, it wasn't enough to say, we went to dinner and had a good time. It was, "Where'd you go, what'd you eat?" What does it matter to you??????? They seriously would frown if it wasn't a "hot spot".

Working w/ men definitely requires a thicker skin, but I love it.

I actually do "work with" women now, but on a much different level and I absolutely love it. I think it depends on the women, age etc...

I prefer to work with NICE people. i think it goes both ways. some women are nasty and most of all they just DONT STOP. The drama the gossip, the grudges...OMG but then their are women like myself that are polite and empathetic to others feelings. On the other hand some men can be arrogant, overconfident, and a harda@@ BUT then there are the sweet nice ones that DO NOT GOSSIP...which is beautiful...so overall I want to either work with nice people ...OR as someone else said WORK FOR MYSELF.
The best advice when working with both kinds of people is not to get in the drama...thats the safe place to be.

As a female boss, I have noticed that women take a lot more sh*t from men than from women without getting upset. Its almost like the expect men to be tough, but when women get tough, we are a b*tch.

I think women are also more intimaded by their male bosses and less likely to mouth off to them than they are to their female bosses. I have gotten yelled at by a secretary for doing far less then what my male boss has done. But she would never yell at him....

Its also tough being a young woman who is a boss. Lots of people don't listen to you- or put the male bosses work as a priority over mine.

My bosses have been both men and women, and I have had great experiences with both.

I work with all men now and you wouldn't believe how b!tchy and gossipy they can be!! Still, I think that working with all women is worse.

I work with all women now. In the past Ive worked with a mix and honestly I get along a lot better with the men.
