My birth story and PICS!!!
First let me just say I have never known love like I do now. My son has just amazed me from the moment he was born. He is perfect and healthy and everything I had hoped and dreamed of. And everytime I look at him it's like I always knew him in my heart.
Most of you know that DH was in a wedding on 9/25, my due date, and that he told my belly EVERYDAY to just WAIT for the wedding to be over to be born Well, I started having contractions exactly 5 mins apart @ 1PM on 9/25. I still was a trooper and made it to the wedding and even managed to dance my butt off much to everyone's surprise. It didn't seem like they were getting any stronger, but they never faltered from 5 mins. We got in the car to drive home @ 10PM and when we got home I went to the bathroom and had lost my plug (snot! ) The contractions stayed the same and I went to bed. An hour later I woke up to go to the bathroom and my water broke!!! I woke up DH and told him and as I was standing there more came out but now it had meconium in it. So, I got nervous and we pretty much went right to the hospital. Got there @ 1:30AM still just slight contractions and I was 3 1/2 centimeters. My dr came about 30 mins later and I had gotten to 4. At 6AM I was 6 centimeters and at 7:30 I was ready to push (And I did it all without ANY drugs!!! I was SO scared of the epi!) So I pushed and pushed and pushed from about 8AM until 11:30AM. And he wouldn't come down. First they told me that I wasn't doing a good enough job pushing ( ) and that I had to try harder. Then they figured out that he was trying to come down with his ear to his shoulder which would never work. The dr, knowing that I wanted as natural a delivery as possible offered forceps w/ an epi but that was just too risky for me and DH. I asked for a c-section. I was so exhausted (I guess I danced too much ) and his heart rate was slightly dropping and I always said - it doesn't matter HOW they get here as long as they do. I didn't mind having to get the c/s in the slightest - I just wanted my baby here happy and healthy. So, off I went for my spinal and cut and he was out in less than 10 minutes!!! It was THE most amazing experience of our lives. I wouldn't have changed a minute of any of it.
Joseph looks just like his daddy. I TRY not to be prejudice, but I think he's perfect He's a champ at breastfeeding and he only cries when we change his diaper. I guess he'll be a little modest.

ohhhhhh Danielle, he is absolutely adorable! You're an amazing woman going through all that labor without medication! I'm so happy we went through these 9 months together and both came out with perfect little angels in the end Enjoy your little sweetie and every second of new mommyhood
