Yeah - its really hard to say whether or not its worth $1.3mm unless you are really familiar with the area. I dont think that you could get a house like that with a waterview in huntington for that price- in fact I imagine the waterview houses of that quality are much more expensive that $1.3.
I know that if i told people the price that we are paying for our home they would think we are crazy, but we arent only paying for the house. We are paying for the schools, commute to NYC, general feel of the town, etc.

a house like that would be 3 million on the water easily - take a look at the huntington bay houses -

I could live with the price (not literally  ), but those freakin' taxes!!!!!  I'm really beginning to hate Long Island.
