Hot Holiday Moms Challenge-Week One Check in Thread
OK Ladies this is it. While summer isn't officially over for most of us the end of labor day marks the end of summer. It's time to set some realistic goals to meet for the holidays. This challenge will run from today 9/5/06 and the final check in will be 1/2/07. Everyone who wants to be in the challenge needs to sign up here today by posting what your goal is between now and then. It doesn't have to be weight loss. It could be exercise or eating healthier foods or water or all of the above. I will post a daily thread Monday-Friday sometime between 8-9am and will try to post on the weekends as well. Once everyone signs up and posts their goals I will make buddy groups or pairs depending on how many mom's are in on this then you'll have a one on one drill sargeant to keep you going
Here's who I have so far (but you need to still post your goals for the challenge so I can match people up)

well...here I go.....
ultimately I'd like to lose some weight, BUT
I want to drink more water daily excercise more, even if it's a small walk outside (once it cools off a little more) develop a more positive self image and boost my self esteem/self worth

Me! Me! Me!!!
I want to go down some clothing sizes (about 2 sizes) and to eat better. I also want to get back to exercising regularly. Until I broke my hand in my 6 month, I went to the gym at least 3 times a week. Now i am having trouble just getting there 2 times a week.

thanks for organizing this!! I could use the inspiration and motivation. I really want to lose 15 lbs to get back to what I weighed 2 years ago when I got married. i'd like to tone up again - pregnancy forever changed my body

I am on WW and my goal is to loose 15 lbs by my B-Day (12/15).
I am also rebounding and doing pilates from home.

so excited about this!
I need to lose 15-10 lbs to get to my wedding weight. I need to drink more water and I need to get more fruit/vegs in my diet too
I will admit it now - I am addicted to carbs

Ok i need to loose about 25 pds to get back into my old clothes ( i was VERY thin pre baby) I need to start eating better and more excercise then just softball...

I have about 5 lbs to go to pre-preggo weight, but then I need to lose at least another 20-30 lbs. I need to eat better and get this butt moving.

OK, not sure about how much weight b/c I don't have a scale but I want to be able to wear my old clothes without feeling self concious! I went jogging today and yesterday, feeling good

My goal for this challenge is 20 lbs and to get to a point of regular exercise at least 3 times a week. I have much, much more to lose after that but this is my first goal to a healthier life. I also want to drink more water.

I don't have a weight goal (since I never weigh myself), but would like to lose some weight and fit into my old clothes.
Also, would like to get some exercise in daily and stop snacking during the day.
I'll be starting back at work tomorrow part-time so I'm hoping that helps to cut out snacking.

I'm in...
For me, it's losing weight. I lost all the baby weight but now I have to lose the weight that shouldn't have been there to begin with! I would love to lose 25lbs by the end of the year.

too late to join? i'd like to lose 40 pounds, but since that seems unrealistic, if i could get down to single digit clothing sizes i'd be in heaven! i currently wear a size 12.
i cannot seem to find time to exercise and i'm not sure if it's just my inherent laziness or really true. i am away from the house from 7:00am to 9:00/10:00 pm weekdays.

Definitely not too late to join. I will post the final list tomorrow morning. I want to give everyone enough time to see this and sign up.

I'm in...still recovering from C-Section so I might have to start a little later then everyone else.
My long distance goal is to lose the pregnancy weight and just feel good about my body again. I'm going to St. Thomas for my sisters wedding in May. I want to be bathing suit ready by then.
Until then my short term goals are to get back into running once I feel up to working out. My gym membership also goes back into effect in October and I would like to get there at least 3-4 days a week.
My immediate goal is to get out of the house in another week or so and just walk a few times a week. If I can do that it will be a good start.

Michele just post your goal for the challenge (9/5/06-1/2/07) here and then I will have daily thread that we will all check in with. I am also going to buddy people up in groups or pairs for additional support once everyone is signed up. I know how you feel. A year later this was not my plan.

I would like to join. MY dh and I started a diet August 3rd and so far I have lost 9 lbs as of yesterday. I still have 40 lbs to go till my goal. But since this challenge is from today till 1/2/07mu goal for that period of time is 28 lbs.
I also want to keep up the walking we started (cause we are typically one to start somethign and then die out) and try to add some more exercise to tone my stomach back to my pre prego look.
And MORE WATER! I gave up soda but I really dont like water to much. But I need to drink more
So weight loss (28 lbs), keep walking and add stomach exercises and drink more water!!

Ahhh, so glad to see someone is reviving the workout thread! I'm on board! I don't necessarily want to lose any weight, but I need to get back into a set workout routine now that all our house renovations are almost complete. My goal - 2-3 times a week, and drink more water...
