I am going to call in the morning. I may go in after the observation for a few hrs (and say I had a migraine or something to do w/ the heat) - I am exempt so it will count as a day's work. I don't know yet. But I know I have to keep going!!!!!

So I went this morning, and it was WELL worth it. The teacher had me help with sentence corrections, math problems, etc. The principal who set it up for me actually came over from the lower school to the middle school to make sure I got there ok and was set up. It was great. I wish I could go every day and they would have allowed me to but I can't take off. So I said I could hopefully come back on 7/26 when I requested a vac day (my birthday!) I'm glad I went. I came into work after and my boss was annoyed (annoyed that I came in - go figure). She hasn't even spoken to me yet. Wackjob.

So sorry!!!! But one closed door opens another. It seems as though you had regrets accepting the job in the first place. I am sure this is a blessing in surprise.

I know it feels crappy, especially not having been treated like this on a job before, but everyone needs to have one. I once worked at a job everyone said I was so lucky to have and I was treated miserably by my boss.

You have much better coming down the horizon- especially since you are now following your dream

Unemployment! I know it's hard to be fired, but doesn't your state have help if you are looking to change careers & are out on unemployment?

I've asked at my company. No temps unfortunately. Still flirting with the idea of firing my assistant - in which case you could walk into the job.

Everything happens for a reason. I think this job you are currently at is going to DRIVE YOU CRAZY!! I think them firing you is the best thing that can happen to you..and you can finally pursue your teaching career 100%

This does not reflect upon who you are. Don't let it get your self esteem down. I took a job once that I had no business taking....it didn't work out and I'm so much happier than I was there.

My boss actually told me that nobody in the firm would support me if I stayed...nice huh?
