Okay......well. Disappointingly to DH, the salary isn't that much more and doesn't make up for me losing mine. We figured it had to be his current one PLUS mine now, and it isn't. He was given a relocation package to read through, which we will tonight. He's worried about being short sighted and saying no, but he's really annoyed that it isn't the big increase we thought. So, we'll have an answer by Monday, but right now, we are BOTH leaning toward no...which makes me happy......but I have to keep his best interest in mind, too. Marriage is hard.....

Everything happens for a reason. Maybe his salary not being more $$ than he thought is a good thing and will convince him to stay in NY.

I'm sorry it's not what you expected.... Is there still room for negotiation? Can he negotiate full tuition reimbursement plus books? Considering cost of Northwestern and Univ of Chicago, it could really be a good thing.

Too bad the offer is not what you expected... but maybe this will make the decision alot easier for the both of you...your DH might not feel like he's missing out on a huge opportunity and you don't have leave NY... think about how much harder the decision would be if the package was well above and beyond what you both expected...
