For me it took some getting used to. By day 4, I thought I made a mistake because my hair was "too straight". After I washed it, I was literally Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread

Thanks so much ladies!

I'm a little concerned b/c I woke up this morning after sleeping on my hair and there are some sections that now have a little wave or crease in them. I hope that changes after I wash it. I don't have a straightening iron, so I can't fix it now. Did anyone else have this happen in the first few days! Chat Icon

How many days has it been? If it's past two/three days, you're fine.

Jackie - I love it!!! It makes your highlights show so nicely! Did you have any breakage? I'll be curious to see how it is after you wash it - my hair is thin as well and I know that was your biggest concern was how it would come out!

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread

looks great Jax!

I am now debating whether to get it touched up now at 6 months or just do it once a year... the roots are really wavy, but it only takes me 5 minutes to blowdry the top straight Chat Icon
I definitely want to do it again in May because it was perfect for the summer that time of year.
How often do you all get it done?

Also, have any "cheap" places opened up in Suffolk yet? LOL

Looking at my ends, some of them look a little fried, and I do see a little breakage, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little trim.

I did it in july and will probably go back in may. It's great in the summer time.

This cracks me up that their is a thread on this. I have my before and after too. Unfortunately, now my hair is growing out and I don't like it as much anymore. I had it done twice and it seems like after the second time, my hair wasn't as shiny. But, it's still very easy.

I included a pic too of my hair growing out at my bridal shower. I did not like the way it looked at the shower.

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread

I wasn't allowed to do it. To make a long story short, the stylist wasn't aware that I had done some mild relaxing on my hair (to loosen my curls), and advised that I not do it today. The chemicals in the relaxer, and in the treatment I'd be receiving would pretty much work like nair, and break my hair. She said I had two choices: wait until it grows out, or chop it up to my chin, or shorter. So I guess I will wait until next fall with my curly mess. *sigh*Chat Icon

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread

Hi ladies

I need some recommendations for places to JHS. I went to Top Point last time and I wasn't completely satisfied. I know so many of you had it done there and liked it but the top of my hair was still wavy after I had it done. I don't know if I should go back or try someplace else.
What do you think?
Thanks
Christine

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread

Yes it was the first time I did it - Tracey did it. She didn't leave the first part of the treatment on the top of my hair as long as she did on the rest of my hair (she did the back first and then did the top 10-15 minutes later) I think she said it was because I had more highlights on the top of my head.

Same thing happened to me when I went there.

I'm going back to Hair Village this month.
